JMI organizes International Interdisciplinary Science Congress: Young Scholar’s Meet (I-ISC-2024)

The International Interdisciplinary Science Congress: Young Scholar’s Meet (I-ISC-2024) took place on October 9, 2024, at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi. Organized by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences, it brought together nearly 500 participants, including Ph.D. scholars, post-doctoral fellows, and young faculty members, to showcase their research. This unique event focused on allowing young scholars to present their raw data directly, while their mentors served as the audience.

The congress covered a wide range of topics across biological and physical sciences, including Quantum Mechanics, Bacterial Resistance, CRISPR-Cas9, Bioinformatics, Drug Design, and Neurodegenerative Diseases. A notable highlight was the participation of Prime Minister’s Research Fellows (PMRF), who presented their ground-breaking work in various scientific domains such as Structural Biology, Biotechnology, and Nanobiotechnology.

The event featured 70 oral presentations, 200 poster presentations, and 25 international talks, promoting global collaboration. The poster session allowed young researchers to engage in- depth discussions, fostering a vibrant environment for exchanging ideas. In addition, industry professionals from fields like genomics and proteomics shared insights, demonstrating how technological innovations are influencing research.

Icebreaker sessions, roundtable discussions, and fun activities organized by undergraduate and postgraduate students added to the congress's  dynamic atmosphere. The I-ISC 2024 was a significant platform for promoting interdisciplinary science, enabling young scientists to grow, collaborate, and contribute to addressing global challenges.
