पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश जस्टिस अहमदी के निधन पर एएमयू में शोक

अलीगढ़ 2 मार्चः भारत के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश और अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व चांसलर जस्टिस एएम अहमदी (अजीज मुशब्बर अहमदी) का गुरुवार सुबह निधन हो गया।  वे 91 वर्ष के थे।

उनके निधन पर दुख व्यक्त करते हुए एएमयू के कुलपति प्रोफेसर तारिक मंसूर ने कहा कि जस्टिस अहमदी एक महान व्यक्तित्व के मालिक थे और एएमयू के उनके साथ घनिष्ठ और लंबे संबंध थे क्योंकि उन्होंने विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति के रूप में दो कार्यकाल पूरे किये था।

उन्होंने कहा कि जस्टिस अहमदी का निधन एएमयू बिरादरी के सदस्यों के लिए एक व्यक्तिगत क्षति है। मैं उनके परिवार और दोस्तों के प्रति हार्दिक संवेदना व्यक्त करता हूँ और जन्नत में उनके लिए एक उच्च स्थान की प्रार्थना करता हूँ।

सुप्रीम कोर्ट से विदाई के बाद, न्यायमूर्ति अहमदी सितंबर 2003 में अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति बने और जनवरी 2010 तक इस पद पर दो कार्यकाल तक रहे।

उनका जन्म 1932 में सूरत में हुआ था और 1994 से 1997 तक वह चीफ जस्टिस ऑफ इंडिया के प्रतिष्ठित पद पर आसीन रहे।

जस्टिस अहमदी ने अपना कानूनी करियर 1954 में शुरू किया था। उन्हें अहमदाबाद में सिटी सिविल एंड सेशन कोर्ट में नियुक्त किया गया था, और बाद में उन्हें गुजरात उच्च न्यायालय में पदोन्नत किया गया। उन्हें दिसंबर 1988 में सुप्रीम कोर्ट में नियुक्त किया गया और 1994 में वह 26वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश बने।

इंद्र साहनी बनाम भारत संघ और इस्माइल फारूकी बनाम भारत संघ दो उल्लेखनीय निर्णय हैं जिनमें उन्होंने उच्च न्यायालय स्तर पर भाग लिया।

उन्होंने दिसंबर 1988 में भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में नामांकित होने से पहले राजीव-लोंगोवाल समझौता के हिस्से के रूप में रावी और ब्यास जल विवाद न्यायाधिकरण में भी काम किया।

न्यायमूर्ति अहमदी ने भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में 811 बेंचों में शामिल रह कर 230 से अधिक निर्णय लिखे।

Subsequent to the meeting of the Executive Council (EC) of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) held on 22^nd February, 2023 and the decisions taken thereof regarding admissions for the Academic Session 2023-2024, the e-Prospectus for admission to various courses of the university is available on the portal of the Controller of Examinations, JMI (http://jmicoe.in/) and hard copies (limited number) also.  

 

The last date for submission of online application is 03^rd April, 2023.

 

Admission to twenty courses will be done through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Students are required to fill both CUET and JMI forms for these courses.

International Women’s Day: JMI organises Panel Discussion

 

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised a Panel Discussion on ‘Women in Science & Technology: Assuring Access, Participation & Aspiration’ at the CIT Conference Hall of the university today. The underlying objective was to attract attention to the abiding concern regarding inequalities and gender imbalances that continue to persist in subtle ways in the field of science & technology. This was the first event of the International Women’s Day celebrations which are being held between 1^st to 8^th March, 2023.

The panel consisted of three women scientists- Prof. Qamar Rahman, an internationally renowned scientist & educationist, Prof. Prerna Gaur, Director , West Campus- NSUT, and Prof. Seemi Farhat Basir, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, JMI. JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar (Padma Shri) presided over the panel discussion.       

Prof. Ibraheem, DSW, JMI delivered the welcome address in which he  highlighted that despite the policy initiatives and facilitative on-field mechanisms, several stereotypes continue to  persist and many barriers remain unbroken. He emphasised that the need now was to focus on eliminating the imbalances at higher levels of professions.

Prof. Najma Akhtar began her presidential address by spanning the international scene and highlighting how gender equality has always been a core issue for the United Nations as demonstrated through its sustained adoption of resolutions pertaining to access and participation of women and girls in education, training, science, technology and innovation. The observance of 11^th February as the International Day of women and girls in science is another step to keep the issue in global focus.

The Vice Chancellor further said that at the national level, our government has been proactively taking steps to bridge the gender gap. Initiatives such as the GATI ( or Gender Advancement for Transforming institutions), Vigyan jyoti scheme and Indo-US fellowship for women in STEMM found mention in her address. She followed this up by sharing that the issue of gender equality is very close to the heart of the administration of JMI. Until recently three highest positions of the university- those of the Chancellor, of the Vice Chancellor and Pro- Vice Chancellor were held by women. Currently three Faculties of the university are being headed by women Deans. She also recounted the achievements of some of the brilliant women students of Jamia who continue to make the institution proud.

Prof. Qamar Rahman drew upon her own work with women in the unorganised sector and her work on the physiological effects of nanoparticles to demonstrate how women continue to bear the brunt of hazardous work environments. She narrated personal incidents to bring to light the struggles of women who strive to achieve and make a mark in the fields of their choice. She also chose this occasion to dedicate her book Ufaq to aspiring young girls. Her experiences shared in an affable style touched a chord with many in the audience.

Prof. Prerna Goyal gave some quick but useful advice to girls in the form of some basic tips – invest yourself in education, support each other, be financially independent , have a voice and believe in yourself.

Prof. Seemi Farhat Basir in her presentation brought to the fore the stories of several women scientists whose achievements have either been attributed to male scientists or whose contribution has been relegated to mere footnotes to more influential papers by their male colleagues . She emphasised how diversity in its various forms enriches the field of science by bringing in creative insights and multiple perspectives to problem solving. She elaborated upon several initiatives at JMI which work towards gender equity by providing hand holding activities as well as redressal mechanisms.

The event which was attended by a large number of teachers and students ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Gurjeet Kaur, Assistant DSW, JMI.

जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया (JMI) ने जामिया स्कूलों के शैक्षणिक सत्र 2023-24 के लिए संयुक्त ई-प्रॉस्पेक्टस को परीक्षा नियंत्रक, JMI की वेबसाइट- http://jmicoe.in/ पर अपलोड किया है।

 

जामिया सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल, सैयद आबिद हुसैन सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल (प्राइमरी सेक्शन सहित) (सेल्फ/फाइनेंस), जामिया गर्ल्स सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल (सेल्फ फाइनेंस) और मुशीर फातमा नर्सरी स्कूल के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन फॉर्म 15 मार्च, 2023 से उपलब्ध होंगे। 300/- रुपये के आवेदन शुल्क के साथ ऑनलाइन आवेदन जमा करने की अंतिम तिथि 13 अप्रैल, 2023 है। इन स्कूलों में प्रवेश के लिए आवेदन पत्र http://jmicoe.in/ पर ऑनलाइन जमा किया जा सकता है।

 

विश्वविद्यालय के बालक माता केंद्रों के आवेदन पत्र भी 15 मार्च, 2023 से उपलब्ध होंगे और आवेदन पत्र जमा करने की अंतिम तिथि रु. 50/- के आवेदन शुल्क के साथ 13 अप्रैल, 2023 है। आवेदन पत्र   (बालक माता केंद्रों में प्रवेश के लिए हार्ड कॉपी) मटिया महल, कसाबपुरा और बेरीवाला में उपलब्ध होगी और संबंधित केंद्रों पर जमा की जाएगी।

JMI Schools Admission process begins

 

 Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has uploaded combined e-Prospectus of Jamia Schools for the Academic Session 2023-24 on the website of the Controller of Examinations, JMI- http://jmicoe.in/

 

Online application forms for Jamia Senior Secondary School, Syed Abid Husain Senior Secondary School (including Primary Section) (Self/Finance),  Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School (Self Finance) and Mushir Fatma Nursery School will be available from 15^th March, 2023 and the last date for the submission of online application along with an application fee of Rs.300/-  is 13^th April, 2023. The Application Form for admission in the these schools can be submitted  online on http://jmicoe.in/ .

 

Application forms of Balak Mata Centres of the university will also be available from 15^th March, 2023 and the last date to submit the application form along with an application fee of Rs.50/- is 13^th April, 2023. The Application Form (Hard copy) for admission in Balak Mata Centres will be available at Matia Mahal, Qassabpura and Beriwala  and shall be submitted at the respective Centres.

JAMIA ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF ASSOCIATION FELICITATES JMI VC Prof. NAJMA AKHTAR

 

Jamia Administrative Staff Association (JASA) felicitated Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) for being conferred the Honorary Rank of Colonel Commandant NCC by the Ministry of  Defence, Government of India. The function was organised at the lawns of Nehru Guest House of the university on 22^nd February, 2023, which was attended by Prof. Nazim Husain Jafri, Registrar, JMI, Senior Officers of the university, General Secretary, JASA, Mr. Nasim Ahmad, President, JASA, Mr. Jahangir Ahmad and other staff members of the university.   

 

Non-teaching employees of the university who have superannuated after their long invaluable services to the university were also felicitated by the Vice Chancellor on this occasion.  

 

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, JMI said “I am thankful to JASA for honouring me and I must say that this is an achievement for not only me but for the whole Jamia Fraternity”.

 

Prof. Najma Akhtar further said “non-teaching staff members of the university are like those important parts of a machine which are not visible from outside but without their efforts the machine can’t move efficiently. The university is achieving new milestones all because of joint efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university”.

JAMIA SENIOR SECONDRY SCHOOL CELEBRATED ANNUAL DAY 2023

 

जामिया सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल ने मनाया वार्षिक दिवस-2023

 

जामिया सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल (JSSS), जामिया मिल्लिया  इस्लामिया (JMI) ने 24 फरवरी 2023 को अपने मल्टीपर्पस हॉल में वार्षिक दिवस समारोह का आयोजन किया। कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत कुरान की तिलावत से हुई और जामिया तराना से हुई।

 

जामिया की वाइस चांसलर, प्रो. नजमा अख्तर (पद्म श्री) ने समारोह की अध्यक्षता की, जिसमें कई बहुसांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम शामिल थे। स्कूल के प्रधानाचार्य प्रो. जसीम अहमद ने उन्हें सेप्लिंग और स्मृति चिन्ह भेंट कर उनका स्वागत किया। कुलपति ने अपने संबोधन में उपस्थित छात्रों और शिक्षकों को प्रोत्साहित किया और विश्वविद्यालय में छात्रों के लिए मौजूद विभिन्न परिदृश्यों के बारे में बात की और बताया कि कैसे वे सबसे कुशल और प्रगतिशील तरीके से अपने सीवी और पोर्टफोलियो का निर्माण कर सकते हैं। उन्होंने स्कूल में खेल और एनसीसी के महत्व के बारे में भी बताया।

 

कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि प्रो. (डॉ.) रिहान खान सूरी, (प्रो वीसी, एसडीईयू) और गेस्ट ऑफ ऑनर प्रो. नजीम हुसैन जाफरी (रजिस्ट्रार, जामिया) का स्वागत स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल प्रो. जसीम अहमद और अन्य संकाय सदस्य ने सेप्लिंग और स्मृति चिन्ह के देकर किया। ।

 

वार्षिक समारोह ने गौरवशाली दिन को भी सेलिब्रेट किया जब जामिया सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल की आधिकारिक पत्रिका 'उमंग- 2023' को सम्मानित अतिथियों द्वारा आधिकारिक तौर पर बिरादरी के बीच बहुत खुशी के साथ जारी किया गया। उमंग छात्रों को विशेष रूप से प्रिय है क्योंकि इसे महामारी के बाद स्कूल खुलने के बाद जारी किया गया है और यह ऐतिहासिक अतीत की याद दिलाने के साथ-साथ आगामी भविष्य का ध्वजवाहक है।

 

छात्र-छात्राओं ने पंजाबी व राजस्थानी लोकनृत्यों की मनमोहक प्रस्तुति देकर दर्शकों को ऊर्जा से भर दिया। इसे दर्शकों से स्टैंडिंग ओवेशन मिला।

10वीं और 12वीं की बोर्ड परीक्षाओं में सर्वाधिक अंक, उच्चतम उपस्थिति, सर्वश्रेष्ठ असेम्बली, खेल श्रेणी, एनसीसी आदि के लिए छात्रों को पुरस्कार दिए गए। समारोह में विद्यार्थियों ने गजल भी गाई और कविता पाठ भी किया।

 

छात्रों द्वारा पूरे सत्र की याद में वार्षिक प्रतिवेदन प्रस्तुत किया गया। यह छात्र की उपलब्धियों से भरा था। इसमें कई पुरस्कार, क्विज प्रतियोगिता, टेड स्पीकिंग क्लब, कविता पाठ प्रतियोगिता, गांधी ट्रॉफी, पिकनिक, इंटर-हाउस फुटबॉल और क्रिकेट टूर्नामेंट आदि के बारे में बात की गई।

 

प्रो. जसीम अहमद ने छात्रों और शिक्षकों से आत्म-मूल्यांकन के बारे में बात की और प्रत्येक वर्ष (सत्र) के अंत में यह देखने के लिए कि किस ने क्या किया है, और अधिक मार्ग प्रशस्त करने के लिए क्या करने की आवश्यकता है, स्वयं का और व्यावसायिक विकास का आकलन कैसे करना चाहिए ।

 

जेएसएसएस के पूर्व छात्र प्रो. (डॉ.) रिहान खान सूरी ने अपने संबोधन में श्रोताओं को 11वीं कक्षा के अपने अनुभवों से रूबरू कराया और मौके, भाग्य और कड़ी मेहनत के बारे में बात की। उन्होंने अपनी सफलता का श्रेय अपने माता-पिता और शिक्षकों को दिया।

 

प्रो नाज़िम हुसैन जाफरी (रजिस्ट्रार, जेएमआई) ने छात्रों से कड़ी मेहनत करने और अपने लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने तक हार न मानने की हिदायत दी और छात्रों को परीक्षा और जीवन के लिए शुभकामनाएं दीं।

 

एक छात्र द्वारा धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया गया, जिसके बाद राष्ट्रगान हुआ और वार्षिक दिवस समारोह का समापन हुआ।

Three JMI Biotechnology students receive prestigious “MEDHA” Fellowship

            

Three MSc. Biotechnology students of the Department of Biotechnology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Ms. Ayesha Saubia, Mr. Ashwani Singh and Ms. Yashika Arora have been awarded prestigious Bayer Fellowship - “MEDHA” (2022-2023). The Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India is facilitating the Bayer Fellowship Program – MEDHA offered by Bayer CropScience Limited. The selected students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000 to complete their master’s program for two years. 

 

Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, JMI  congratulated the successful students and wished them good luck for their endeavors. "These students were selected based on their academic profile and interview performances from hundreds of applicants. I hope that it will motivate other students of the university also do better" said the Vice Chancellor.

 

The MEDHA fellowship combines annual financial assistance with the opportunity of receiving mentorship under Bayer’s employees as well as industry experts.  The fellowship provides financial assistance to students from economically weaker sections of the society to continue higher studies (Master’s and PhD) in the Life-sciences / Biotechnology / Pharma disciplines.

 

The students will also get an opportunity to visit Bayer’s research labs, interact with industry experts, gain exposure and build their knowledge base. The target of the fellowship is to enable the fellows to achieve their short and long-term academic and professional goals.

JMI organises ANIMELA - A Festival of Artistic Diversity

                                

The Semester III students of M.A. Visual Effects and Animation, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre(AJKMCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized “ANIMELA, a festival of artistic diversities”, on February 22nd and 23rd, 2023 at the M. F. Hussain Art Gallery of the university. The festival was attended by around 700 art enthusiasts, students, and professionals from the creative industry on both the days, making it a vibrant and dynamic event. 

 

ANIMELA’23 was a platform for artists, filmmakers, animators, and storytellers to showcase their creativity and diversity through various forms of art. The festival aimed to provide a unique experience to the audience by displaying a wide range of artworks, including paintings, photographs, installations, short films, and animations.

 

The festival featured a diverse range of art forms, including traditional and contemporary forms of visual art, animation, and visual effects, hence the tagline, "a festival of artistic diversities". The event provided an opportunity for the participants to interact with other artists and showcase their talent to a larger audience.

 

The festival also hosted workshops and panel discussions to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge among the artists and the audience.Mr. Fardan Khan and Ms. Opal Maheshwari were the coordinators of Animela.  

 

The festival was inaugurated by Prof Mini Shaji Thomas, Dean Faculty of Engineering and technology and Prof. M Kasim Director, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre). The event was carried out under the guidance of Dharmendra Arora (Business and Entrepreneurship Subject Faculty) and Dr Atul Sinha (Sr. Assistant Prof. Animation and Course Coordinator MA Visual Effects and Animation).

PRIZE WINNERS STUDENTS OF VARIOUS SCHOOLS OF AMU ALIGARH

                             

मेडल जीतने वाले एएमयू के छात्र-छात्राओं को सम्मानित किया गया

अलीगढ़, 10 जनवरीः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय  के स्कूल शिक्षा निदेशक प्रोफेसर असफ़र अली खान ने एएमयू स्कूलों के राष्ट्रीय और राज्य स्तरीय खेल प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लेने वाले और पदक जीतकर अपनी मातृ संस्था का नाम रोशन करने वाले आधा दर्जन छात्रों को सम्मानित किया।

स्कूल शिक्षा निदेशालय, एएमयू में आयोजित विशेष समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए प्रोफेसर असफ़र अली खान ने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय खेल प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लेना और पदक जीतना एक सम्मान और गर्व की बात है। मैं छात्रों को बधाई देता हूं और उन्हें शुभकामनाएं देता हूं। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि छात्रों की सफलता दूसरों को भी प्रेरित करेगी।

सम्मानित होने वाली छात्राओं में एएमयू सिटी गर्ल्स हाई स्कूल की छात्रा महविश, नेशनल सीनियर आर्म्स रेसलिंग चौंपियनशिप में गोल्ड मेडलिस्ट, अंजल बघेल (एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल गर्ल्स) 55वीं यूपी स्टेट एनुअल एथलेटिक चौंपियनशिप के दौरान 60 मीटर दौड़ में तीसरा स्थान पाने वाली छात्रा शामिल हैं। 50वीं सीनियर महिला नेशनल हैंडबॉल चौंपियनशिप की प्रतिभागी अबीरा रिजवान (सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल गर्ल्स), युसरा इरम (एएमयू गर्ल्स स्कूल), आलिया राशिद (सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल गर्ल्स), जोहा नदीम (एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल गर्ल्स), सादिया अली (एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल गर्ल्स) 37वीं राष्ट्रीय जूनियर महिला हैंडबॉल चौंपियनशिप की प्रतिभागी राबिया (सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल गर्ल्स) यूपी महिला हॉकी चौंपियनशिप की प्रतिभागी, अभिनय धरगढ़ (एसटीएस स्कूल) यूपी स्टेट जूनियर एथलेटिक्स चौंपियनशिप की प्रतिभागी गुंजन गौतम (एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल गर्ल्स) जूनियर स्टेट एथलेटिक्स चौंपियनशिप के प्रतिभागी मो जुनैद (एएमयू एबीके स्कूल बॉयज) शामिल हैं।

अमेठी में आयोजित 31वीं यूपी स्टेट मास्टर्स एथलेटिक मीट के दौरान एएमयू एबीके हाई स्कूल गर्ल्स के खेल शिक्षक श्री शमशाद निसार को क्रमशः 200 और 400 मीटर दौड़ में स्वर्ण पदक और रजत पदक जीतने पर सम्मानित किया गया। उन्होंने सम्मान समारोह कार्यक्रम का संचालन किया।
