Aligarh, August 7: Cementing its commitment to patient safety and excellence in healthcare education, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) inaugurated the Regional Training Centre of Pharmacovigilance under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), marking a significant milestone in strengthening drug safety monitoring and pharmacovigilance training in the region.

The Centre was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Naima Khatoon, in the presence ofProf. Mohd. Mohsin Khan, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Mohammad Khalid, Dean, Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Anjum Parvez, Principal and Chief Medical Superintendent, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH); Prof. Vibha Sharma , MIC PRO and was hosted by Prof. S. Ziaur Rahman, Chairman, Department of Pharmacology.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon said that the establishment of the Regional Training Centre reflects AMU's commitment to promoting the safe and rational use of medicines. She emphasized that a robust pharmacovigilance system is indispensable for modern healthcare, enabling continuous monitoring of medicines for their safety and effectiveness even after they are introduced into the market. She noted that the Centre would not only strengthen patient care but also promote research, training and evidence-based medical practice.

Congratulating the Department of Pharmacology, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohd. Mohsin Khan lauded the team for bringing the prestigious Regional Training Centre to AMU and expressed confidence that it would significantly enhance patient safety, research and healthcare quality across the region.

Prof. Mohammad Khalid described the Centre as a landmark addition to AMU's medical ecosystem. He said, "This Centre will strengthen pharmacovigilance education, encourage evidence-based clinical practice and prepare healthcare professionals to uphold the highest standards of patient safety."

Prof. Anjum Parvez said, "Timely reporting of adverse drug reactions is fundamental to quality healthcare. The Regional Training Centre will enhance clinical vigilance and promote safer treatment practices for the benefit of patients."

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. S. Ziaur Rahman highlighted that the Centre would serve as a regional hub for promoting medication safety, strengthening adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and fostering a culture of clinical vigilance. He said the Centre will organize specialized training programmes, workshops and awareness modules for doctors, pharmacists, nurses and researchers to improve the detection, reporting and prevention of adverse drug reactions.

Among those present were Prof. N. D. Gupta, Prof. Mohd. Shameem, Prof. Sheelu Shafiq, Prof. M. Khwaja Saifullah, Prof. Mahtab Alam, Prof. Khwaja Saifullah Zafar, Prof. Geeta Rajput, Prof. Pradhuman Verma, Dr. Jameel Ahmad, Dr. Irfan Ahmad Khanand Dr. Ahmar Hasan, along with senior faculty members, researchers, healthcare professionals, residents and students.

ALIGARH, August 8: The Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with the Department of Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi, organised a nine-day online E-Twinning Programme to promote academic collaboration and exchange of ideas on contemporary issues in education, research and pedagogy.

The programme brought together academicians, faculty members, research scholars and students from both institutions and covered educational research, inclusive education, policy initiatives, Outcome-Based Education, academic publishing, digital communication, mental well-being and classroom practices.

Prof. Aejaz Masih, Head, Department of Educational Studies, JMI, spoke on educational research and problem formulation, while Prof. Arshad Ikram Ahmad discussed equity and inclusion in higher education. Prof. Nakhat Nasreen, Chairperson, Department of Education, AMU, highlighted strategies for strengthening inclusive practices in modern classrooms.

Other sessions focused on Early Childhood Care and Education, Outcome-Based Education, research publication, social media and communication, mental health and well-being, and evidence-based classroom management. The sessions were conducted by Dr.Zeba Tabassum, Prof. Sajid Jamal, Dr. Sameer Babu M, Dr. Noora Abdul Kader, Prof. Mehnaz Ansari and Dr. Anjum Ahmed.

Participants actively engaged with the resource persons through discussions and question-answer sessions. The programme concluded with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to academic collaboration, professional development and the exchange of innovative educational practices.

AMU Departments Observe World Breastfeeding Week with Awareness and Community Outreach Activities

ALIGARH, August 8: The Departments of IlmulAtfal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College and Hospital (AKTCH), and Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), observed World Breastfeeding Week with a range of awareness, educational and community outreach activities promoting optimal breastfeeding practices and maternal and child health.

Held under the theme, “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works,” the programmes emphasised the importance of exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months, appropriate complementary feeding and continued breastfeeding.

The Department of IlmulAtfal programme, organised under the patronage of Prof. S. M. Safdar Ashraf, Chairperson and Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, with guidance from Prof. B. D. Khan, Principal, AKTCH, included awareness sessions for breastfeeding mothers attending the Outpatient Department (OPD), free health camps and a poster-making competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

An extension lecture by Dr.Abiha Ahmad Khan highlighted the role of breastfeeding in infant nutrition, immunity and healthy physical and cognitive development, while addressing common misconceptions about infant feeding.

The poster competition was judged by Dr. Jameel Ahmad, Department of Pharmacology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, and Dr. Shamshad Alam, Department of IlmulAdvia. Prof. Mohd Anwar, Prof. Mohd Mohsin, Dr. M. Shoaib and Dr. Nawal-ur-Rahman, among others, attended the programme. Alina Azmat received the first prize in the poster competition.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Samreen Khan and Dr. Sana Jameel, with Dr. M. Anas and Dr. Diwan Israr Khan serving as Organising Secretaries.

The Department of Community Medicine, J.N. Medical College, under the guidance of Prof. Uzma Eram, Chairperson, observed World Breastfeeding Week 2026, culminating in a Valedictory Programme held at the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC).

A series of activities were held through the week, including health talks at the UHTC, the Urban Health Post, Jamalpur, and an Anganwadi Centre, a Poster Making Competition for students of Sir Syed School, and a Slogan Making Competition among interns. These were supervised by Dr. Sana Nawab, Assistant Professor, Dr. Syed Sohaib Hashmi, Senior Resident, and Dr. Raj Yuvrajsinh, Junior Resident.

The Valedictory Programme was attended by Prof. Uzma Eram, Dr.Suboohi Afzal, Lady Medical Officer, UHTC, Dr. Sameena Ahmad, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Sana Nawab, along with Junior Residents, interns, MBBS and school students, UHTC staff, mothers and beneficiaries. It featured an exhibition of posters and slogans, evaluated by Prof. Eram and Dr. Afzal, with prizes distributed to the winners. Dr. Ayushi Gupta (JR-2) delivered a health education session on the benefits of breastfeeding and the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, and the programme was compered by Dr. Rohan Kaushik (JR-1).

Three mothers, including Mrs. Anju, Mrs. Sajida, and Mrs. Sahanawere felicitated for practising exclusive breastfeeding for six months, inspiring other families in the community.

एएमयू के जेएन मेडिकल कालिज के प्रसूति एवं स्त्री रोग विभाग ने बांझपन                                                                                                                          और प्रजनन चिकित्सा पर राष्ट्रीय स्नातकोत्तर प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम आयोजित 

अलीगढ़, 8 अगस्तः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के जवाहरलाल नेहरू चिकित्सा महाविद्यालय के प्रसूति एवं स्त्री रोग विभाग ने बांझपन और प्रजनन चिकित्सा पर राष्ट्रीय स्नातकोत्तर प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया। कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य स्नातकोत्तर चिकित्सकों के ज्ञान और प्रजनन चिकित्सा से संबंधित चिकित्सकीय कौशल को बढ़ाना था।

कार्यक्रम की परिकल्पना भारतीय प्रजनन चिकित्सा सोसायटी की अध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर सुनीता तेंदुलवाड़कर ने की थी। इसमें जवाहरलाल नेहरू चिकित्सा महाविद्यालय, एटा मेडिकल कॉलेज और तिब्बिया कॉलेज के लगभग 100 स्नातकोत्तर रेजीडेंट चिकित्सकों और शिक्षकों ने भाग लिया। शैक्षणिक सत्रों में बांझपन के उपचार के आधुनिक तरीकों, सहायक प्रजनन तकनीकों तथा प्रयोगशाला में निषेचन से संबंधित विषयों पर चर्चा की गई।

उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम में एएमयू की कुलपति प्रोफेसर नइमा खातून, सहकुलपति प्रोफेसर मोहसिन ख़ान, चिकित्सा संकाय के अधिष्ठाता प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद खालिद, प्राचार्य एवं मुख्य चिकित्सा अधीक्षक प्रोफेसर अंजुम परवेज तथा मुख्य अतिथि उत्तर प्रदेश भारतीय प्रजनन चिकित्सा सोसायटी की सचिव डॉ. सीमा पांडे उपस्थित रहीं। कार्यक्रम का समन्वय विभागाध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर जहरा मोहसिन, आयोजन अध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर शाहीन तथा आयोजन सचिव डॉ. दीबा खानम ने विभाग के शिक्षकों और कर्मचारियों के सहयोग से किया।

प्रतिभागियों का स्वागत करते हुए प्रोफेसर जहरा मोहसिन ने विश्व स्तर पर बढ़ती बांझपन की समस्या और प्रजनन चिकित्सा के क्षेत्र में उन्नत प्रशिक्षण की आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश डाला। प्रोफेसर शाहीन ने युवा चिकित्सकों के लिए निरंतर सीखने और अपने कौशल को बेहतर बनाने के महत्व पर जोर दिया।

कुलपति प्रोफेसर नइमा खातून ने आयोजकों को बधाई देते हुए भविष्य में भी ऐसे शैक्षणिक कार्यक्रमों के लिए विश्वविद्यालय की ओर से पूर्ण सहयोग का आश्वासन दिया। सहकुलपति प्रोफेसर मोहसिन खान ने कहा कि युवा चिकित्सकों को विशेष प्रशिक्षण देने से प्रजनन स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को बेहतर बनाने में मदद मिलेगी। प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद खालिद और प्रोफेसर अंजुम परवेज ने भी स्नातकोत्तर शिक्षा और रोगी सेवाओं को मजबूत करने के लिए विभाग के प्रयासों की सराहना की।

उत्तर प्रदेश भारतीय प्रजनन चिकित्सा सोसायटी की सचिव डॉ. सीमा पांडे और उत्तर प्रदेश भारतीय प्रसूति एवं स्त्री रोग अल्ट्रासाउंड एवं प्रसवपूर्व तकनीक सोसायटी की सचिव डॉ. नेहारिका मल्होत्रा ने बांझपन, सहायक प्रजनन तकनीकों और प्रयोगशाला में निषेचन से संबंधित विषयों पर विशेषज्ञ व्याख्यान दिए। डॉ. सीमा पांडे ने कहा कि प्रजनन चिकित्सा के प्रशिक्षण को अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों के अनुरूप बनाया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने बढ़ती बांझपन की समस्या को देखते हुए स्नातकोत्तर विद्यार्थियों को उन्नत प्रशिक्षण और व्यावहारिक अनुभव उपलब्ध कराने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया।

एएमयू ने जिला कारागार की महिला बंदियों के लिए स्वास्थ्य जागरूकता                                                                                                                                                                                      शिविर लगाया

अलीगढ़, 7 अगस्तः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के यूनानी चिकित्सा संकाय के अजमल खान तिब्बिया कॉलेज के निसवां व कबालत विभाग ने विश्व स्तनपान सप्ताह-2026 के अंतर्गत जिला कारागार, अलीगढ़ में महिला स्वास्थ्य एवं स्तनपान जागरूकता शिविर आयोजित किया। यह शिविर दवाखाना तिब्बिया कॉलेज और सक्षम भारत फाउंडेशन के सहयोग से लगाया गया।

शिविर का उद्देश्य महिला बंदियों और कारागार की महिला कर्मचारियों को मातृ एवं शिशु स्वास्थ्य, स्तनपान, महिलाओं के स्वास्थ्य, पोषण तथा रोगों की रोकथाम के प्रति जागरूक करना था। इस पहल के माध्यम से विश्वविद्यालय ने समाज के वंचित वर्गों तक बेहतर स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं और स्वास्थ्य शिक्षा पहुंचाने की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को दोहराया।

शिविर की समन्वयक डॉ. फहमीदा जीनत ने स्तनपान के महत्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि यह माँ और शिशु दोनों के स्वास्थ्य के लिए अत्यंत आवश्यक है। उन्होंने शिशु की रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता बढ़ाने, उसके स्वस्थ विकास को सुनिश्चित करने तथा माँ और बच्चे में विभिन्न बीमारियों के खतरे को कम करने के उपायों की भी जानकारी दी।

कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन जिला कारागार के अधीक्षक पंकज कुमार सिंह ने किया। इस अवसर पर उपाधीक्षक राजेंद्र कुमारी, उपकारापाल सुमरा अंसारी तथा अन्य कारागार अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे। निसवां व कबालत विभाग की अध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर सुबूही मुस्तफा ने कहा कि विभाग विशेष रूप से वंचित और जरूरतमंद वर्ग की महिलाओं के स्वास्थ्य के लिए नियमित रूप से जागरूकता और सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य कार्यक्रम आयोजित करता रहेगा।

शिविर में स्नातकोत्तर चिकित्सकों की टीम ने महिला बंदियों की स्वास्थ्य जांच कर उन्हें व्यक्तिगत परामर्श दिया तथा प्रसूति एवं स्त्री रोग संबंधी समस्याओं के बारे में चिकित्सकीय सलाह प्रदान की। कारागार की महिला कर्मचारियों को भी निःशुल्क स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण और विशेषज्ञों से परामर्श का लाभ मिला।

दवाखाना तिब्बिया कॉलेज की ओर से रक्तवर्धक, गर्भाशय को सुदृढ़ बनाने वाली तथा सामान्य रोगों की यूनानी औषधियों का निःशुल्क वितरण किया गया। लाभार्थियों को आवश्यक पोषण सामग्री भी उपलब्ध कराई गई।

विशेषज्ञों ने स्तनपान कराने की सही विधि और शिशु को गोद में रखने की उचित स्थिति का प्रदर्शन किया, विशेष रूप से शल्य प्रसव के बाद माताओं के लिए उपयोगी तरीकों की जानकारी दी। साथ ही संतुलित आहार, पर्याप्त पानी पीने और नियमित स्तनपान के माध्यम से माँ के दूध की मात्रा बढ़ाने के उपाय बताए गए। स्तनपान से जुड़ी कई भ्रांतियों और गलत धारणाओं का भी वैज्ञानिक आधार पर निराकरण किया गया।

विश्व स्तनपान सप्ताह के अंतर्गत विभाग द्वारा पूरे सप्ताह जागरूकता कार्यक्रम, बाह्य रोगी परामर्श, औषधि वितरण और सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य गतिविधियां आयोजित की जा रही हैं। इन प्रयासों के माध्यम से अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय समाज के प्रति अपनी जिम्मेदारी निभाते हुए जनस्वास्थ्य के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाने और सामुदायिक कल्याण में निरंतर योगदान दे रहा है।

थर्ड-पार्टी ट्रांसपेरेंसी ऑडिट में शानदार स्कोर हासिल किया

                     RTI एक्ट के तहत प्रोएक्टिव डिस्क्लोज़र के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को दोहराया

 जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया (जेएमआई) ने सूचना का अधिकार अधिनियम (RTI Act), 2005 की धारा 4 के तहत निर्धारित प्रोएक्टिव डिस्क्लोज़र की ज़रूरतों के अनुपालन का आकलन करने के लिए किए गए नवीनतम थर्ड-पार्टी ट्रांसपेरेंसी ऑडिट में 825 में से 802 का बेहतरीन स्कोर हासिल किया है। यह जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया द्वारा अब तक हासिल किया गया सबसे अधिक स्कोर है, जो पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और सुशासन के प्रति इसकी निरंतर प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाता है।

 

जेएमआई ने यूनिवर्सिटी की वेबसाइट पर एक व्यापक और यूज़र-फ्रेंडली 'स्ओ मोटो डिस्क्लोज़र' (स्वेच्छा से जानकारी देने वाला) वेबपेज बनाया है, जहाँ खण्ड 4 की विभिन्न धाराओं के तहत निर्धारित जानकारी एक व्यवस्थित और आसानी से नेविगेट होने वाले ड्रॉप-डाउन मेनू के माध्यम से उपलब्ध कराई गई है। यह वेबपेज स्टेकहोल्डर्स को संस्थागत जानकारी तक आसान पहुँच प्रदान करता है और RTI एक्ट के तहत परिकल्पित पारदर्शिता के उद्देश्य को काफी आगे बढ़ाता है।

यह ट्रांसपेरेंसी ऑडिट एक सरकारी प्रशिक्षण संस्थान द्वारा किया गया था, जिसे केंद्रीय सूचना आयोग (CIC) ने RTI एक्ट के तहत प्रोएक्टिव डिस्क्लोज़र दायित्वों के अनुपालन के थर्ड-पार्टी मूल्यांकन के लिए मान्यता दी है।

 

यह मूल्यांकन भारत सरकार के कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत और पेंशन मंत्रालय, कार्मिक और प्रशिक्षण विभाग (DoPT) द्वारा जारी RTI एक्ट की धारा 4 के तहत 'स्ओ मोटो डिस्क्लोज़र' पर दिशानिर्देशों के अनुसार किया गया। मूल्यांकन में केंद्रीय सरकारी मंत्रालयों और विभागों के लिए निर्धारित दिशानिर्देशों का पालन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए जेएमआई की 2025-26 की स्व-मूल्यांकन रिपोर्ट और इसकी आधिकारिक वेबसाइट (https://जेएमआई.ac.in/) की जाँच की गई। ऑडिटर्स ने अपनी वेबसाइट पर ज़रूरी जानकारी उपलब्ध कराकर पारदर्शिता के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता दिखाने के लिए जेएमआई की सराहना की है।

 

इस उपलब्धि पर खुशी ज़ाहिर करते हुए, जेएमआई के वाइस-चांसलर प्रो. मज़हर आसिफ़ ने कहा:

 

"यह उपलब्धि पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और जनसेवा के प्रति जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया की मज़बूत प्रतिबद्धता को दिखाती है। जानकारी को खुद से सार्वजनिक करना (प्रोएक्टिव डिस्क्लोज़र) सिर्फ़ एक कानूनी ज़रूरत नहीं है, बल्कि अच्छे प्रशासन का एक ज़रूरी हिस्सा भी है। पारदर्शिता ऑडिट में अब तक का सबसे अच्छा स्कोर हासिल करना यूनिवर्सिटी के लिए गर्व की बात है और यह सभी संबंधित लोगों के लिए जन-महत्व की जानकारी आसानी से उपलब्ध कराने के हमारे सामूहिक संकल्प को दिखाता है। हम अपने सिस्टम को मज़बूत करना और संस्थागत कामकाज में पारदर्शिता के उच्चतम मानकों को बनाए रखना जारी रखेंगे।"

 

जेएमआई के रजिस्ट्रार और फर्स्ट अपीलेट अथॉरिटी (FAA) – (यूनिवर्सिटी सेक्टर), प्रो. मो. महताब आलम रिज़वी ने भी सभी संबंधित अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों को बधाई दी और कहा:

 

"यह शानदार ऑडिट स्कोर यूनिवर्सिटी के अलग-अलग प्रशासनिक और शैक्षणिक विभागों में की गई सावधानीपूर्वक योजना, समन्वित प्रयासों और लगातार निगरानी का नतीजा है। मैं उन सभी अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों के समर्पण की सराहना करता हूँ जिन्होंने सटीक, अपडेटेड और आसानी से उपलब्ध जानकारी बनाए रखने में योगदान दिया। यह उपलब्धि हमें अपने पारदर्शिता ढांचे और नागरिक-केंद्रित प्रशासन के तरीकों को लगातार बेहतर बनाने के लिए और प्रेरित करती है।"

 

यूनिवर्सिटी, RTI नोडल ऑफिसर और सेंट्रल पब्लिक इन्फॉर्मेशन ऑफिसर (CPIO) - (यूनिवर्सिटी सेक्टर), प्रो. शबाना महफ़ूज़ के समर्पित प्रयासों की सराहना करती है, जिनके समन्वय और नियमित फॉलो-अप ने ऑडिट की ज़रूरतों को पूरा करने में अहम भूमिका निभाई। यह उपलब्धि RTI सेल के सभी सदस्यों, कंट्रोलर और FAA (परीक्षा), प्रो. एहतेशामुल हक़, डायरेक्टर (CDOE) और FAA (CDOE), प्रो. असलम खान, पारदर्शिता अधिकारी, प्रो. शकीब अहमद खान, CAPIO (यूनिवर्सिटी सेक्टर), डॉ. इबादुर रहमान, CPIO (परीक्षा), डॉ. अमीना हुसैन, CPIO (CDOE), डॉ. मकसूद अहमद मलिक, डायरेक्टर, सेंटर फॉर इन्फॉर्मेशन टेक्नोलॉजी, वित्त अधिकारी और विभिन्न संकायों, विभागों, केंद्रों, कार्यालयों और प्रशासनिक इकाइयों के अधिकारियों के सामूहिक योगदान से संभव हुई, जिन्होंने यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए लगन से काम किया कि यूनिवर्सिटी की वेबसाइट पर मौजूद जानकारी पूरी, सटीक और अप-टू-डेट रहे।

 

 जेएमआई का यह अच्छा स्कोर 'सूचना का अधिकार अधिनियम' (RTI Act) की भावना के प्रति यूनिवर्सिटी की प्रतिबद्धता को दिखाता है। इस अधिनियम का मकसद जानकारी को सक्रिय रूप से साझा करके सरकारी संस्थानों में पारदर्शिता को बढ़ावा देना है। आम लोगों के लिए कई तरह की जानकारी उपलब्ध कराकर, यूनिवर्सिटी नागरिकों को सशक्त बनाना, प्रशासनिक जवाबदेही बढ़ाना और अलग-अलग RTI आवेदनों की ज़रूरत को कम करना चाहती है।

 

जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया, RTI अधिनियम, 2005 के नियमों और भावना के अनुसार, जानकारी देने की अपनी सक्रिय व्यवस्था को और मज़बूत करने और लोगों की जानकारी तक पहुँच को लगातार बेहतर बनाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।
