JMI organises Workshop on Research and Academic Writing in Indian Languages

 

The Department of Educational Studies, Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) conducted a three-day Non-Residential Workshop on Research and Academic Writing in Indian Languages funded by Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti, Government of India from 22^nd -24^th February 2023. Training and skill building of more than 75 young Scholars and faculty members from different Universities and Colleges across India were conducted during the workshop.

The inaugural session was graced with the presidential remarks of the Dean of the Faculty and the Chair of the session Prof. Sara Begum. She emphasized that research is highly needed to reinvent itself in Indian languages.

Dr. Arshad Ikram Ahmad, Head of the Department of Educational Studies, JMI said that the Department of Educational Studies has taken the initiative in the wake of transforming the colonial character of education to the national character of education. With such an initiative he anticipated that the university would achieve newer heights in promoting research in Indian Languages.

Prof. Neera Narang from the Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi who was the Chief guest at the inaugural session said that not only research but the entire system of education throughout the globe can learn from the Indian system of education.  Prof. Arbind Kumar Jha from IGNOU deliberated upon Research Paradigm as Key-Note Speaker.

Dr. Chandan Srivastava, the Academic Coordinator of Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti was the Guest of Honour at the Inaugural Programme. He enlightened the audience with several initiatives that the Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti of the Government of India has taken to Indianize the education system. He also highlighted the support Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti, Government of India are providing to the universities towards this endeavour and making to realize the vision of NEP 2020. He said that Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti is reorienting and strengthening Language Institutions, providing stimulus to Multilingualism, Developing Language Learning Tools & Disseminating Vocabulary, Producing Books/Study Materials in Bharatiya Bhasha and so on.

Eminent speakers from across India participated as Resource Persons for the workshop. These included Prof. Saroj Yadav Former Dean Academics, NCERT, Dr. Gulfam, NCERT, Dr. Mona Sedwal, NIEPA, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, IGNOU, Prof. Lokanath Mishra, Mizoram University, Dr. Vimal Rarh- Delhi University, Prof. Usha Sharma, NCERT, Prof. Kumar Suresh, NIEPA, Prof. S.K. Yadav, former HoD, NCERT, Niranjan Sahae, Allahabad.

Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Studies who was the coordinator of the workshop took an initiative to organize the workshop for the young learners. He presented the purpose of the workshop and emphasized that the structure of the workshop was meticulously planned incorporating different aspects concerning Research and Academic Writing in Indian Languages such as Research Paradigm, Mixed Methods in Research, Basic tenets of qualitative research, Statistical Inference, Hands-on workshop on Developing of Detailed Research Project, How to write thematic research report, Hands-on workshop on Designing and Developing MOOC course, Hands-on workshop on writing academic paper, Hands-on workshop on how to make your research publishable and Understanding the nuances of Academic Writing. He highlighted that participants from 33 universities enrolled themselves for the workshop but due to limited seats not all were accommodated. Valedictory session was graced by the chief guest six Prof. Gopal Krishna Thakur from MGAHV, Wardha.

Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, coordinator of the programme started with the Award of Eminence for the life time contribution to the field of education in order to acknowledge the contribution of the faculty to the department. The recipient of the Award were Prof. Sara Begum- Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Aejaz Masih, Prof. Anita Rastogi, Prof. Harjeet Kaur Bhatia, Prof. Naheed Zahoor, Dr. Arshad Ikram Ahmad, HoD of Educational Studies. The Chief Guest presented the award to the recipients. He also presented mementos to Imteyaz Ahmad, Ishita Chugh, and Fariha Siddiqui for their contribution to make the programme successful.

Jamia Hamdard organises a seminar on 'Life and Works of Late Prof. Abul Hasan Siddiqi'

To mark the extraordinary contributions of Prof. Abul Hasan Siddiqi to Duty Society an International Seminar on “Life and Works of Late Prof. Abul Hasan Siddiqi” was organized by Jamia Hamdard today.

The inaugural session was compared by Prof. F. S. Sheerani former Dean Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University. Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Afshar Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard enlightened the life and works of Abul Hasan Siddiqi sahib in the field of Mathematics, Physics and Applied Research and shared his personal experiences of Aligarh days and functioning of the Duty Society. Chief Guest and Governor of Kerala Mr Arif Mohammad Khan, presented the importance of Duty Society and focused on the duties of citizens from a larger perspective. He said that nowadays people generally fight for their rights and neglect their duties, if we focus on duties we can develop a healthy society and prosperous country. He also enlightened the Quranic Teachings of equality, humanity and the importance of education. Mr Khwaja M. Shahid, Former Pro Vice-Chancellor of MANU, in his keynote address remembered the dream of Abul Hasan Siddiqi to develop a Virtual University which is now being realized by the Govt. of India. Mr Hammad Ahmed Saheb, Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard and President of Duty Society, and Vice-President of Duty Society also graced the function.

 

Prof. Irshad Mehmood thanked the delegates from across India and abroad and the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard for his support in organising this Seminar at Jamia Hamdard. In the technical session Padamshri Prof. S. Zillur Rahman, Prof. M. Kaleemullah Ahmad, Dr Nazar Abbas, Dr R.C. Singh of Sharda University and Mrs Azra Siddiqui shared their experiences of Duty Society. He presented the achievements of Abul Hasan Siddiqi. Other dignitaries include Professor Syed Asim Zafar of Aligarh Muslim University, Chairman, Deptt. Computer Science, Professor Nafees Ansari, Director, Center for Distance and Online Education, Dr Arman Rasool Faridi, Mr Khalid Masood, AMU Court Member, Prof. Hafiz Ilyas, AMU Court Member, Prof. Raziullah Khan, Mrs Heena Parveen, Dr Mohammad Shahid, Mr Mazhar Siddiqui, Mr Shaukat Mufti, Dr Sarfraz Ahsan, Prof. Mohammad Akram, Er. Azhar Hussain, Prof. Farhan J. Ahmed, Md. Tauhid Alam and others were also present in the programme. About Duty Society Duty Society was founded at Aligarh Muslim University by Sahebzada Aftab Ahmad Khan in 1889 with the objective of supporting poor and needy students to get higher education. Maulana Tufail Ahmad, Mr Bahadur Ali, Mr Abdullah Khan and Mr Mazharul Haq and Prof. Thomas Walker Arnold were also instrumental in establishing the Duty Society. Duty Society Provides education loans, Free Boarding and Coaching. Prof. Abul Hasan Siddiqi joined Duty Society as Keeper in 1985 since then he worked enormously for the development of society and his efforts culminated in the present form of Duty Society which is a continuous source of encouragement, guidance and financial support for the upliftment of poor students

प्रोफेसर बदरूद्दुजा खान अजमल खां तिब्बिया कॉलेज के प्रिन्सिपल नियुक्त

अलीगढ़, 21 फरवरीः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के अजमल खां तिब्बिया कालिज के यूनानी मेडिसिन फैकल्टी के मोआलीजात विभाग के प्रोफेसर बदरूद्दुजा खान को उनके दायित्वों के अतिरिक्त अजमल खां तिब्बिया कालिज का प्रिन्सिपल नियुक्त किया गया है।

प्रोफेसर खान 2005 में एक व्याख्याता के रूप में मोआलीजात विभाग में शामिल हुए, बाद में एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर और प्रोफेसर बने। इससे पहले उन्होंने विभाग में एक रिसर्च एसोसिएट के रूप में कार्य किया। वह एसएस हाल साउथ के 5 वर्षों से अधिक समय तक प्रोवास्ट भी रह चुके हैं।

उन्होंने पांच पुस्तकों और एक मोनोग्राफ के अलावा प्रतिष्ठित राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय पत्रिकाओं में कई शोध पत्र प्रकाशित किए हैं।

अलीगढ़, 21 फरवरीः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के अजमल खान तिब्बिया कालेज के तशरीह-वा-मुनाफिउल आजा विभाग के एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर डा फारूक अहमद डार को सर सैयद हॉल साउथ का नया प्रोवोस्ट नियुक्त किया गया है। उनका कार्यकाल तत्काल प्रभाव से दो वर्ष के लिए होगा।

अंतरराष्ट्रीय मातृभाषा दिवस पर कार्यक्रम

अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के विभिन्न विभागों में अंतरराष्ट्रीय मातृभाषा दिवस के अवसर पर कार्यक्रम आयोजित किये गए।

भाषाविज्ञान विभाग में, विख्यात भाषाविद, प्रोफेसर रविंदर गर्गेश (अंग्रेजी विभाग, समरकंद राज्य विश्वविद्यालय, उज्बेकिस्तान) ने विभाग के मसूद हुसैन खान लिंग्विस्टिक सोसाइटी के तत्वावधान में आयोजित एक ऑनलाइन व्याख्यान दिया।

प्रोफेसर गर्गेश ने ‘मातृभाषा’ को परिभाषित करने की समस्या की ओर ध्यान आकर्षित किया और राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति 2020 में शिक्षा के माध्यम के रूप में परिकल्पित मातृभाषा और अन्य भाषाओं की भूमिका पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने अकादमिक समुदाय से एक बच्चों को उनकी मातृभाषा में शिक्षा उपलब्ध कराने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने का आह्वान किया।

विभागाध्यक्ष, प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद जहाँगीर वारसी ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मातृभाषा दिवस की प्रासंगिकता पर बात की और वैश्वीकरण के इस दौर में भाषायी विविधता के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला।

उन्होंने कहा कि मातृभाषा शिक्षा और बहुभाषावाद को दुनिया भर में तेजी से स्वीकार किया जा रहा है और भाषाओं को अब लोगों की पहचान का एक अभिन्न अंग माना जाता है जो सांस्कृतिक विविधता को बढ़ावा देने में भाषाओं के महत्व को रेखांकित करता है।

स्वागत भाषण में, श्री मसूद अली बेग (सचिव, एमएचकेएलएस) ने आयोजन के महत्व के बारे में बात की। डॉ नाजरीन बी लस्कर ने धन्यवाद प्रस्ताव दिया।

इस अवसर पर पोस्टर मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता का भी आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें विभिन्न विभागों के छात्र-छात्राओं ने भाग लिया। पहला पुरस्कार आलमीन जहरा (एमए) ने हासिल किया जबकि दूसरा पुरस्कार अहमद सिद्दीकी और मोहम्मद अकबर (पीएचडी) ने साझा किया। तीसरा पुरस्कार संयुक्त रूप से सानिया रफी (एमए) और उज्मा आफरीन (पीएचडी) द्वारा साझा किया गया। इकरा रजा, महबूब जाहेदी (पीएचडी), रुकैय्या नदीम, फोजिया खान (एमए) और इरम सिद्दीकी (पीएचडी) ने सांत्वना पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया।

आधुनिक भारतीय भाषा विभाग में इस अवसर पर व्याख्यान कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। विभागाध्यक्ष, प्रोफेसर मुश्ताक अहमद जरगर ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मातृभाषा दिवस के महत्व पर बात की। उन्होंने कहा कि इस तरह के उत्सव दुनिया भर में भाषाई विविधता के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करते हैं, जिससे मातृभाषा को सांस्कृतिक रूप से अधिक स्वीकार्यता मिलती है।

उन्होंने कहा कि भारत एक बहुभाषी देश है और विविध विरासत, लोकाचार और देशी भाषाओं को संरक्षित करना अनिवार्य है। यह अच्छी बात है कि एनईपी 2020 में मातृभाषाओं के शिक्षण पर विशेष ध्यान दिया गया है।

मराठी अनुभाग प्रभारी, डॉ. ताहिर एच. पठान ने कहा कि यह दिन सभी देशी भाषाओं के संरक्षण के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने में सहायक है क्योंकि सभी बहुभाषी और बहुसांस्कृतिक समाज अपनी भाषाओं के माध्यम से पारंपरिक ज्ञान और संस्कृतियों को बनाए रखते हैं।

तेलुगु अनुभाग के प्रभारी डॉ. खसीम खान पठान और तमिल अनुभाग के प्रभारी डॉ. तमिल सेलवेन ने भी इस अवसर पर बात की।

एएमयू छात्रों का चयन

अलीगढ़ 22 फरवरीः अलीगढ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के जाकिर हुसैन कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग एंड टेक्नोलॉजी के बी.टेक./बीई अंतिम वर्ष के पांच छात्रों का चयन धरम कॉस्ट कंसल्टिंग प्राइवेट लिमिटेड, मोहाली (पंजाब) द्वारा कैंपस भर्ती अभियान के माध्यम से किया गया है।

टीपीओ, जेडएचसीईटी, श्री फरहान सईद ने बताया कि लिखित परीक्षा और साक्षात्कार के बाद जिन छात्रों का चयन किया गया, उनमें बी.टेक. सिविल की सेजल शर्मा, ऋतिक कुमार, हम्मैद जफर, हिबा खान और बीई इलेक्ट्रिकल की इरम खान शामिल हैं।

इस बीच, नोएडा स्थित एक आईटी कंसल्टिंग फर्म, एक्जियोम कंसलटिंग प्राइवेट लिमिटेड ने प्रशिक्षण और प्लेसमेंट कार्यालय (जनरल) और टीपीओ, वाणिज्य संकाय द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से आयोजित कैंपस प्लेसमेंट ड्राइव के माध्यम से अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के 7 छात्रों का चयन किया है।

टीपीओ, श्री साद हमीद ने कहा कि परियोजना प्रबंधक और वित्तीय सलाहकार के रूप में चयनित छात्रों में एमबीए-एफएम के इकरामउद्दीन, भुवनेश कुमार, मंतशा आफताब, मोहम्मद इबरार अहमद, मोहम्मद साकिब आलम, एमबीए की तमकनत खुशनूर और एमकॉम के इबाद अहमद शामिल हैं।

वाणिज्य विभाग के अध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर एसएम इमाम उल हक ने चयनित छात्रों को बधाई दी और उनसे ईमानदारी और समर्पण के साथ काम करने का आग्रह किया।

प्रो. एमयू रब्बानी ने प्रधान अन्वेषक के रूप में अनुसंधान परियोजना में भाग लिया

अलीगढ़, फरवरी 17ः अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी के जेएन मेडिकल कॉलेज के कार्डियोलॉजी विभाग के पूर्व अध्यक्षक एवं फैकल्टी ऑफ मेडिसिन के पूर्व डीन प्रोफेसर एमयू रब्बानी बहुराष्ट्रीय दवा कंपनी नोवो नॉर्डिस्क के एक रिसर्च प्रोजेक्ट में प्रिंसिपल के रूप में दुबई में आयोजित सम्मेलन में जांचकर्ता टीम में शामिल हुए। इस शोध परियोजना के तहत हृदय रोगियों के लिए एक नई दवा का विश्लेषण किया जा रहा है। इस बैठक में 20 देशों के प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया।

The centralized theme of the conference was “Workout for fit India”. Dr. Zubia Veqar, Associate Professor, CPRS, JMI gratifyingly received the awards on behalf of the centre and JMI. Dr. Zubia Veqar who is also the General Secretary for IAP Delhi branch was awarded with the highest IAP fellowship award for her professional and meritorious work in the field. This fellowship award is given annually to the professionals in the physiotherapy field by IAP for overall academic and research expertise based on rigorous analysis. Dr. Veqar added glory to the Centre and JMI with her professional excellence. Furthermore, the IAP Delhi state was awarded with best state for its remarkable efforts in the upliftment of the profession through various clinical, academic and research based events at a gross scale. AMU ANNOUNCES ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR THE SESSION 2023-24

 

 The Aligarh Muslim University has started the admission process for the academic session 2023-24. Admission forms for various courses are now available online. Candidates can apply through the official website www.amucontrollerexams.com

The Guide to Admission having details of various courses is also uploaded on the official website for reference. Candidates are advised to read the guide to admission and related documents carefully before applying.

The important test dates include April 30, 2023 for the entrance test of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., while the entrance test for B.Tech. and BALLB will be conducted on May 14, 2023.

The entrance test for MBA will be held on 28 May 2023 and for Class XI, it will be conducted on May 21, 2023.For any enquiry, candidates can visit the official website and also contact the Admission Section, Controller’s Office during office hours.

महत्वपूर्ण परीक्षा तिथियों में बीए, बीएससी, बीकाॅम की प्रवेश परीक्षा 30 अप्रैल, 2023 और बीटेक और बीएएलएलबी के लिए प्रवेश परीक्षा 14 मई, 2023 को आयोजित की जाएगी। एमबीए की प्रवेश परीक्षा 28 मई 2023 को और ग्यारहवीं कक्षा के लिए प्रवेश परीक्षा 21 मई 2023 को आयोजित की जाएगी।
