AMU NCC Cadets Participate in Army Attachment Camp at Meerut Cantonment
ALIGARH, January 20: 1 UP ENGR. COY., NCC, Aligarh Muslim University conducted NCC Army Attachment Camp from January 4 to 15, 2026, at the 63 Engineer Regiment, Meerut Cantonment.
18 cadets from AMU participated in the camp. The camp offered cadets valuable exposure to the functioning, training standards, and operational roles of the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army.
Col. D. Dhadhwal, Officer Commanding, 1 UP ENGR. COY., NCC, interacted with the cadets during the training and obtained their feedback, and discussed measures to make future camps even more informative and effective.
Mr. Mohd Imran, Assistant Professor, ZH College of Engineering and Technology and Mr. Mohd Danish, Assistant Professor at University Polytechnic, AMU, who also serve as the Caretaking Officers of 1 UP ENGR. COY., NCC, Aligarh Muslim University played a vital role in guiding, motivating, and supporting the cadets during the whole training.
As part of the training schedule, cadets were introduced to various types of military bridges, with detailed explanations on their technical specifications, construction purposes, and operational importance.
The participating Cadets visited the IED Model Room, where cadets were briefed on different sensors used in improvised explosive devices. An introduction to mine warfare was provided, covering the technical data of different types of mines along with hands-on training in mine breaching techniques. The camp also featured drone training, where cadets were introduced to drone handling and basic operational procedures. Further adding to the practical exposure, cadets underwent weapon training, learning stripping, assembling, technical data, and firing positions of weapons such as LMG, INSAS, and CMG.
The combined exposure to drone operations, weapon handling, mine breaching, and tactical field movements left the cadets inspired, confident, and highly motivated to excel in NCC activities and pursue a career in the armed forces.
