AMU Law Students Organize Legal Literacy Camp

ALIGARH, March 25: Final-year students of the Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a Legal Literacy Camp with the aim of spreading legal awareness and sensitizing people about their rights.

The programme was presided over by the Dean, Faculty of Law, Prof. Shakeel Ahmed, and coordinated by Prof. Hashmat Ali Khan. Addressing the participants, Prof. Khan highlighted the importance of safeguarding citizens’ rights and emphasized that awareness is essential to prevent exploitation and injustice. He also encouraged students to actively engage in social service.

As part of the camp, students were divided into two groups. One group staged impactful street plays on themes such as “Bias-Free India” and “Awareness against Cyber Fraud,” which helped in educating the public in an engaging manner. The second group visited nearby villages to provide legal guidance and assistance, and spread awareness in the society.

Faculty members, students, and volunteers participated in the programme. The camp served as a valuable practical learning experience for the students and marked a significant step towards promoting legal awareness in the community.
