AMU Scholar Presents Himalayan Bird Vocalization Research at International Conservation Conference
Ms. Ayesha Mohammad Maslehuddin
Aligarh, March 2: Ms. Ayesha Mohammad Maslehuddin, a research scholar from the Department of Wildlife Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, represented the university in virtual mode at the international conference “Centering Community: Integrative Conservation” held in Athens, where she presented her research on vocal variation among Streaked Laughingthrushes of the Central Himalayas.
She is the department’s first scholar specializing in avian bioacoustics, an emerging field that examines bird vocalizations to understand communication, identity, behavior, and conservation. The research was supervised by Prof. Satish Kumar, with co-supervision from Dr. Anil Kumar of the Zoological Survey of India.
