AMU’s JNMC Celebrates 14th International Day of Radiology with Enthusiasm and Innovation
ALIGARH, November 12: The Department of Radio-Diagnosis, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), celebrated the 14th International Day of Radiology with great enthusiasm, innovation, and a spirit of camaraderie.
Prof. Mohammad Khalid, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, served as the Patron of the event, while Professor S. Amjad Ali Rizvi, Principal and Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of JNMC, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mohammad Khalid highlighted the crucial role of radiology in contemporary medical science, noting that it has transformed diagnosis and treatment through early detection and precise evaluation of diseases, thereby improving patient outcomes. He lauded the contributions of radiologists and imaging technologists who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support clinical decision-making and patient care.
Prof. S. Amjad Ali Rizvi encouraged students and young doctors to keep pace with rapid advancements in imaging technologies, including AI-assisted diagnostics and interventional radiology. He reaffirmed AMU’s commitment to fostering innovation, academic excellence, and quality healthcare delivery.
Prof. Mehtab Ahmad, Chairman of the Department of Radio-Diagnosis, appreciated the dedication and teamwork of faculty members and residents, setting a positive tone for the celebrations.
A major highlight of the day was the Award Distribution Ceremony, which honoured the outstanding contributions of staff and students. The jury panel included Dr. Sufia Naseem (Biochemistry), Dr. Anwar H. Siddiqui (Physiology), Dr. Ahmad Faraz (Physiology), Dr. Manzoor Ahmad (Surgery), and departmental faculty members including Prof. Mehtab Ahmad, Dr. Saifullah Khalid, Dr. Syed M. Danish Qaseem, and Dr. Mudasir Ashraf.
Adding to the festive spirit, residents participated in a series of engaging activities, including a humorous skit by MBBS students portraying the life of radiology residents, and fun games such as Pictionary and Emojinoma, which created a lively and cheerful atmosphere.
Dr. Asna Ilham, Junior Resident, Department of Radio-Diagnosis, conducted the programme.
