AMU Hosts National Seminar on Ambedkar’s Vision for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth

 

Aligarh, April 2: The Dr. Ambedkar Chair of Legal Studies and Research, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized a one-day National Seminar on “Ambedkar’s Vision of Sustainability and Inclusive Growth in Viksit Bharat @2047: Law & Policy” on Monday, bringing together scholars, academicians, and policy thinkers from across disciplines.

 

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Zafar Ahmad Khan, Chair Professor of Ambedkar Chair, who highlighted the relevance of Dr. B R Ambedkar’s ideas in shaping a just and equitable society. He remarked, “Ambedkar’s vision continues to guide us in building an inclusive and sustainable framework for the nation’s future.”

 

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Mohd Nafees Ansari, Chairman, Department of Political Science, highlighted the intersection of law, governance, and social justice in achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat @2047. He noted, “Sustainable development must be rooted in inclusivity, ensuring that growth benefits every section of society.”

 

The Chief Guest, Prof. Aasim Zafar, Registrar, AMU, emphasized the importance of academic discourse in policy formulation and nation-building. He stated, “Universities play a crucial role in translating visionary ideas into actionable policies for an inclusive and progressive India.”

 

Conducted in a hybrid mode, the seminar featured five technical sessions, providing a dynamic platform for intellectual exchange. A total of 41 research papers were presented by participants from diverse fields, including law, social sciences, and international relations, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of Ambedkar’s vision.

  The sessions were effectively moderated by Dr. Mohd. Nasir, Dr. Saim Farooqui, and Dr. Syed Mohd. Yawar  

 

The seminar facilitated meaningful discussions on contemporary challenges and policy frameworks required to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth by 2047. Scholars deliberated on issues ranging from social equity and legal reforms to global perspectives on development.

 

The event concluded on a note of academic enrichment and collaborative engagement, reaffirming AMU’s commitment to promoting critical dialogue and research on themes of national importance.
