The Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised a quiz competition on World Tuberculosis Day to enhance awareness and strengthen applied knowledge of tuberculosis among postgraduate residents.
The competition was conducted in two phases, with 13 teams participating in the preliminary round, out of which five qualified for the final round. The grand finale featured multiple segments, including MCQ, buzzer, visual mystery and rapid-fire rounds, testing participants on epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and national programmes related to tuberculosis.
The quiz was conducted by Dr. Mohd. Yasir Zubair, Dr. Syed Sohaib Hashmi and Dr. Surya Prakash Reddy Peram, and was compered by Dr.Mubah Dilshad. The event saw enthusiastic participation and active audience engagement.
Team “Niskhay Ninjas,” comprising Dr. Rohan Kaushik and Dr.ShahalnasKaramkundil, secured the first position, while Team “Myco Busters,” comprising Dr. Ayushi Gupta and Dr. C.K. Prabhakaran, finished as runners-up.
The winners were felicitated by Prof. Uzma Eram, Chairperson of the department, and Dr. Sameena Ahmad, who emphasised the importance of tuberculosis elimination and the role of healthcare professionals.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Danish Kamal and was attended by faculty members, reflecting the department’s commitment to academic excellence and public health awareness.
