UP UK-APPICON 2026 Concludes at AMU with Valedictory Session

ALIGARH, April 5: The 13th Annual Meeting of the UP and UK Chapter of the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India (UP UK APPICON 2026) concluded at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) with a valedictory session, marking the successful culmination of the two-day conference organised by the Departments of Pharmacology and Physiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College.

The session was attended by Chief Guest Prof. M. Mohsin Khan and Guest of Honour Prof. Vibha Sharma, along with Dr. Sumit Garg, Joint Secretary, UP UK APPI, and a large number of faculty members, speakers and delegates.

In his address, Prof. M. Mohsin Khan commended the organisers for conducting a well-coordinated and academically enriching conference, and emphasised the need for stronger integration of basic and clinical sciences to improve healthcare outcomes.

Prof. Vibha Sharma congratulated the organising team and encouraged young researchers to engage in innovative and interdisciplinary research.

Earlier, presenting the conference report, Organising Secretary Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman highlighted the key academic activities, including lectures, symposiums and numerous oral and poster presentations, centred on the theme “From Cells to Cures: Integrating Physiology and Pharmacology.”

The conference witnessed participation of over 300 delegates, including 38 invited speakers, with around 140 oral presentations and 70 posters from institutions across the country.

Awards were presented to outstanding oral and poster presenters, while certificates were distributed to participants.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Tanuj Mathur, Joint Organising Secretary.
