ALIGARH, April 9: Dr. Ataullah Fahad, Associate Professor, has been appointed as Chairman, Department of IlmulAmraz (Pathology), Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), for a period of three years with effect from April 8, 2026.

Dr. Fahad is an experienced academician and clinician with significant contributions to Unani pathology, medical education and research. He holds an MD in KulliyatwaIlmulAmraz from Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, AMU, and is currently pursuing doctoral research focusing on the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and its clinical relevance in knee osteoarthritis.

With a strong academic profile, he has authored over 45 research papers and numerous articles published in reputed peer-reviewed journals, including the Indian Journal of Traditional Knowledge, Journal of Natural Remedies, and Journal of Indian System of Medicine. His research spans areas such as diabetes, inflammatory disorders, Unani diagnostics, and integrative approaches to disease management.

Dr. Fahad has also played a key role in curriculum development and digital education, having developed a 12-week SWAYAM MOOC titled “MahiyatulAmraz (Pathology in Unani Medicine),” which attracted nearly 1,000 learners.
