AMU Pro Vice Chancellor Flags Off Resident Doctors’ Flood Relief Team for Assam
ALIGARH, August 14: The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA), J.N. Medical College & Hospital (JNMCH), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with Al-Imdaad Charitable Trust (AICT) India, is organizing a four-day Flood Relief Medical Camp in Sivasagar district of Assam to provide free medical consultations, medicines and essential healthcare services to people affected by the devastating floods.
As a symbol of solidarity and service to humanity, Prof. M. Mohsin Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor, AMU, flagged off a team of resident doctors. He was joined by Prof. Anjum Pervez, Principal and CMS, JNMCH, Prof. Naiyyar Asif, Medical Superintendent, JNMCH, Dr. Akhtar Ali, President, Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA), JNMCH, and other faculty members and young doctors at the flag-off ceremony. Prof M. Athar Ansari, DSW, also graced the occasion.
Prof. Mohsin Khan said that healthcare professionals have a special responsibility to stand with communities during times of crisis. He appreciated the resident doctors for undertaking the relief mission and said such efforts reflect AMU’s commitment to serving society and extending healthcare support to those in need.
Dr. Akhtar Ali said the team would provide medical assistance to communities in the flood-affected areas and expressed gratitude to the University and hospital administration, faculty members, doctors, residents, students, volunteers and Medical Representatives from various companies for their support and contributions to the relief mission. He particularly acknowledged Prof M. Athar Ansari; Prof. Mohammad Khalid, Dean, Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Anjum Pervez, Principal and CMS, JNMCH; Prof. Naiyyar Asif, Medical Superintendent, JNMCH; Dr. Sami Ahmad Khan, former President, RDA; Mr. Shoaib, Chairman, AICT; Dr. Tauseef, Vice President, RDA; Dr. Md. Raashid, former Court Member, Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Zargam, Secretary, RDA; and Dr. Aquib and Mr. Mirza, President, AICT.
The initiative reflects JNMCH’s commitment to extending healthcare services beyond the hospital and supporting communities affected by natural disasters.
