Plantation Drive Organised at Aligarh Public School under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0' Campaign

Plantation Drive Organised at Aligarh Public School under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0' Campaign

ALIGARH, August 5: Aligarh Public School (APS), Aligarh, organised a plantation drive today under the nationwide 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0' environmental campaign to promote ecological conservation and reinforce the importance of sustainable living.

The programme was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Naima Khatoon, who planted a sapling to mark the commencement of the campaign. Addressing the gathering, she highlighted the vital role of trees in preserving the environment and maintaining ecological balance. She said that planting trees is essential for the protection of nature, adding that human existence is inseparable from the natural environment and that collective efforts towards afforestation are crucial for ensuring a sustainable future.

Several senior university functionaries also participated in the plantation drive by planting saplings, including Prof. Mohammad Mohsin Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor; Prof. Aasim Zafar, Registrar;Prof. Mohammad Naveed Khan, Proctor; Prof. Mohammad Asif, Member In-charge, Property Department; Prof. Anwar Shahzad, Member In-charge, Land and Gardens; Prof. Israr Ahmad Rizvi, Officer on Special Duty, Aligarh Public School; and Prof. Mohammad Azam Khan, Associate OSD, APS.

The programme was attended by Mr. Irshad Hussain, Proctor other officials of APS; along with members of the teaching and non-teaching staff, who actively participated in the plantation campaign.
