AMU Hosts Awareness Programme on Menstrual Hygiene





ALIGARH, May 4: An awareness programme on menstrual hygiene was organised under the aegis of the IIMUN initiative at Aligarh Muslim University to promote informed practices and dispel social myths surrounding the subject.

The session was anchored by Dr Nahid Akbari, while Mr Naeem Ahmed delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of awareness on menstrual health. Dr Sana Siddiqui, MS (Gynaecology & Obstetrics), JNMC, delivered an expert talk on hygiene practices, health precautions and the need for greater social sensitisation.

The programme was organised under the leadership of Mr Farhan Zuberi, Managing Director, Zuberi Welfare Society and research scholar at AMU. Conveners Dr Nahid Akbari and Dr Fauzia Faridi played a key role in coordinating the event, while Dr Mohammad Mohsin Khan extended guidance as Patron.

Presiding over the session, Dr Abdul Jabbar emphasised the social relevance of menstrual hygiene awareness. Around 150 participants, including faculty members, volunteers and students, attended the programme.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Fauzia Faridi.
