Annual Hall Function Held at Sir Syed Hall South, AMU

ALIGARH, May 21: Sir Syed Hall Sout, Aligarh Muslim University, organised its Annual Hall Function at the historic Strachey Hall with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and guests.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohd Mohsin Khan presided over the function as the chief guest, while Smt. Mamta Kuril, IPS, SP City Aligarh (Crime Branch), attended as the special guest. Prof. Qudsia Tahseen, Chairperson, Department of Zoology and Director, School Education, AMU, and Prof. Ashhar Qadeer, Chairperson, Department of Kulliyat, were present as guests of honour.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mohd Mohsin Khan appreciated the efforts of the hall administration and encouraged students to define clear academic goals and actively participate in personality-building activities. Smt. Mamta Kuril motivated students to pursue civil services and emphasised the importance of discipline, perseverance and time management.

Prof. Qudsia Tahseen encouraged students to move ahead with confidence and resilience, while Prof. Ashhar Qadeer advised them to value time and channel their abilities towards academic and social development.

Earlier, Provost Prof. Abdur Rauf welcomed the guests and highlighted the hall’s academic, literary, cultural and sports achievements during the year. The annual hall magazine Fikr-e-Sir Syed was also released on the occasion.

Students who excelled in Inter-Hall and North Zone competitions as well as prestigious examinations including NET-JRF and AYUSH-PG were felicitated with certificates and mementoes.

Senior Hall Dr. Mohd Wasif Raza presented the annual report, while Senior Food Dr. Salman Ahmad proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with a formal dinner.
