ALIGARH, May 7: The Investiture Ceremony of ABK High School (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University, was organised with enthusiasm to formally induct the newly elected student office bearers and promote leadership, discipline and responsibility among students.

Director, Directorate of School Education, Prof Qudsia Tahseen graced the programme as Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Prof Shah Alam, Chairman, Department of Psychology, Dr Saleha Jamal, Assistant Director, DSE, and Prof Mohd Azam Khan, Deputy Director, DSE.

Among the distinguished guests present were Mr Sabahuddin, Officiating Principal, Senior Secondary School (Boys), Mr Fayyazuddin, Officiating Principal, RMPS City Boys, and Mr Saiyed Ahtesham Akbar, Officiating Principal, Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Officiating Principal Mr Mohammad Israil and coordinated by Mr Rais Ahmad and Ms Nida Usmani, while Ms Gausiya Iqbal compered the proceedings.

Welcoming the gathering, Mr Mohammad Israil highlighted the importance of leadership, discipline and commitment towards duty. Newly elected Head Boy Utkarsh Baghel thanked the school administration and teachers for their trust and assured that the student council would perform its responsibilities with sincerity and dedication.

The newly elected office bearers took the oath of office during the ceremony. Utkarsh Baghel was appointed Head Boy and Shishank Chaudhary as Deputy Head Boy.

For the senior section, Mohd Nabeel Mehdi and Pushp Pratap Singh were appointed Captain and Vice-Captain of Blue House under Incharge Dr Mohd Raza Abbas and Associate Mohd Iqbal. Mohd Yahya and Mohd Zubair were appointed Captain and Vice-Captain of Green House under Incharge Muneer Ahmad and Associate Haleema Razzaque. Adil Ahmad and Huzaifa were appointed Captain and Vice-Captain of Red House under Incharge Farah Najm and Associate Irshad Khan. Mohd Qatada and Shoeb Khan were appointed Captain and Vice-Captain of Yellow House under Incharge Haidar Ali and Associate Fozia Qamar.

In the primary section, Lakshmi Tureha served as Incharge of Blue House with Aditya Bhaghel and Abdul Hannan as Captain and Vice-Captain respectively. Fozia Khan was Incharge of Green House with Affan Naved Usmani and Atif as Captain and Vice-Captain. Hina Khan was Incharge of Red House with Khizar and Ali serving as Captain and Vice-Captain, while Huma Anwer was Incharge of Yellow House with Ravi and Jaynit as Captain and Vice-Captain.

Addressing the students, the dignitaries encouraged them to uphold the values of honesty, teamwork, discipline and responsibility and to become role models for others.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms Farah Najm.
