PM VIKAS Scheme Awareness Programme Organised at AMU Adult Education Centre

ALIGARH, July 15: The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension (CCAEE), Aligarh Muslim University, organized an awareness programme on the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) Scheme to mark World Youth Skills Day. The programme aimed to create awareness among students and members of the minority community about the opportunities available under the Ministry of Minority Affairs' flagship initiative for skill development, entrepreneurship, education, women empowerment, and employment.

Welcoming the participants, Dr. Shamim Akhtar, Director, CCAEE, highlighted the importance of skill development in empowering youth and enhancing their employability. Resource persons Dr.Naghma Azhar, Department of Commerce, and Dr. Mohd. Shakir, Department of Education, explained the objectives and benefits of the PM VIKAS Scheme. They discussed its focus on vocational training, entrepreneurship development, educational support, and self-reliance, while also informing participants about the eligibility criteria, registration process, training programmes, and career opportunities available under the scheme.

PM VIKAS trainers Ms. Nazia Hussain, Ms. Ilma Chaudhary, and Ms. Sania Khan also participated in the programme.

The session witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and staff. An interactive question-and-answer session enabled participants to clarify their queries regarding the scheme, and informational material was distributed to encourage eligible candidates to benefit from its various initiatives.

Dr. Shamim Akhtar proposed the vote of thanks.
