Aligarh, December 1: The nine-day Urdu Book Fair, organised by the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) in collaboration with the Sir Syed Academy and the Cultural Education Centre (CEC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), concluded with a vibrant valedictory session celebrating Urdu literature, readership, and cultural heritage.
Former AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammad Gulrez graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Appreciating NCPUL for its sustained efforts in promoting Urdu language and literature, he commended the organisation for bringing together publishers, authors, scholars, and readers on a unified platform. He noted that the book fair infused new literary and cultural vitality into the city of Aligarh. He praised NCPUL and its Director, Dr. Shams Equbal, for their dedicated work. Such events, he added, play a crucial role in nurturing a reading culture and strengthening Urdu’s enduring legacy.
Prof. Shafey Kidwai, Director of the Sir Syed Academy applauded the organisers for successfully hosting the fair and emphasised the timeless value of books in shaping intellectual thought and preserving cultural identity. He described the fair as a significant step towards enriching Aligarh’s scholarly traditions.
In his remarks, Dr. Mohammad Shams Equbal, Director of NCPUL, highlighted the pressing need to revive book culture, particularly among the younger generation. He noted that a strong reading habit would play a key role in advancing the national mission of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, as sustained engagement with books is essential for intellectual growth and holistic development.
Dr. Equbal also proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to AMU authorities, participating publishers, authors, volunteers, and visitors for their enthusiastic support. He reaffirmed NCPUL’s commitment to continuing initiatives that promote and expand the reach of Urdu literature.
Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui conducted the proceedings.
The fair witnessed an impressive turnout from students, researchers, faculty members, and book lovers. Stalls featured a wide array of publications, including classical poetry, fiction, children’s literature, academic works, and contemporary writings. Daily author interactions and discussions added depth and vibrancy to the event. Faculty members and students attended the valedictory session in large numbers, including Prof. Mohammed Naved Khan, Coordinator of the Cultural Education Centre.
एएमयू में नौ दिवसीय उर्दू पुस्तक मेला भव्य समापन समारोह के साथ सम्पन्न
अलीगढ़, 1 दिसंबरः नेशनल काउंसिल फॉर प्रमोशन ऑफ उर्दू लैंग्वेज (एनसीपीयूएल) द्वारा सर सैयद अकादमी और कल्चरल एजुकेशन सेंटर (सीईसी), एएमयू के सहयोग से आयोजित नौ दिवसीय उर्दू पुस्तक मेला समापन समारोह के साथ सम्पन्न हुआ। यह कार्यक्रम उर्दू साहित्य, पाठक संस्कृति और सांस्कृतिक विरासत के उत्सव का एक जीवंत उदाहरण रहा।
पूर्व एएमयू कुलपति प्रो. मोहम्मद गुलरेज मुख्य अतिथि ने उर्दू भाषा और साहित्य के प्रचार-प्रसार में एनसीपीयूएल के सतत प्रयासों की सराहना की और कहा कि इस मेले ने प्रकाशकों, लेखकों, विद्वानों और पाठकों को एक ही मंच पर एकत्रित कर अलीगढ़ में नई साहित्यिक और सांस्कृतिक ऊर्जा पैदा की है। उन्होंने एनसीपीयूएल और उसके निदेशक डॉ. शम्स इकबाल के समर्पित कार्यों की प्रशंसा की। प्रो. गुलरेज ने कहा कि ऐसे आयोजन पढ़ने की संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देते हैं और उर्दू की सदाबहार विरासत को मजबूत बनाते हैं।
सर सैयद अकादमी के निदेशक प्रो. शाफे किदवई ने भी आयोजकों को सफल आयोजन के लिए बधाई दी और कहा कि पुस्तकें बौद्धिक सोच को आकार देने और सांस्कृतिक पहचान को संरक्षित करने का अनमोल साधन हैं। उन्होंने इस मेले को अलीगढ़ की शैक्षणिक परंपरा को और समृद्ध करने वाली पहल बताया।
अपने संबोधन में एनसीपीयूएल के निदेशक डॉ. मोहम्मद शम्स इकबाल ने खासकर युवाओं में पुस्तकों के प्रति रुचि को पुनर्जीवित करने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि अध्ययन की आदत विकसित भारत / 2047 के राष्ट्रीय लक्ष्य को आगे बढ़ाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगी, क्योंकि बौद्धिक विकास और समग्र उन्नति के लिए पुस्तकों से निरंतर जुड़ाव अत्यावश्यक है। उन्होंनेएएमयू प्रशासन, भाग लेने वाले प्रकाशकों, लेखकों, स्वयंसेवकों और आगंतुकों का धन्यवाद किया। उन्होंने उर्दू साहित्य के प्रसार के लिए एनसीपीयूएल की निरंतर प्रतिबद्धता को दोहराया।
कार्यक्रम का संचालन डॉ. अहमद मुजतबा सिद्दीकी ने किया।
पुस्तक मेले में नौ दिनों तक छात्रों, शोधार्थियों, शिक्षकों और पुस्तक प्रेमियों की बड़ी संख्या में उपस्थिति रही। स्टॉलों पर क्लासिकल कविता, फिक्शन, बाल साहित्य, अकादमिक पुस्तकों और समकालीन लेखन सहित विभिन्न प्रकार की पुस्तकों की विस्तृत श्रृंखला प्रदर्शित की गई। प्रतिदिन लेखकों के साथ संवाद और चर्चा ने मेले में और भी उत्साह को भरा।
समापन समारोह में प्रो. मोहम्मद नवेद खान, कोऑर्डिनेटर, कल्चरल एजुकेशन सेंटर सहित बड़ी संख्या में शिक्षक और छात्र उपस्थित रहे।
