AMU Anaesthesiologist Dr Shahna Ali Launches Poetry Collection “Virtue Vibes”
ALIGARH, November 29: Dr Shahna Ali, Anaesthesiologist at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, launched her poetry book “Virtue Vibes”, celebrating a significant literary milestone while balancing a distinguished medical career and motherhood.
The event was presided over by Prof. Shafey Kidwai, Director of the Sir Syed Academy, who praised the refined literary style of the poems. Chief Guest Prof. A. R. Kidwai, Director, K.A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, commended the sophistication of the language and technique, while Guest of Honour Dr. Shams Iqbal, Director, National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), highlighted the cultural value of Dr Ali’s work in promoting moral consciousness and enriching contemporary Urdu literature.
Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Sami Rafiq (Department of English) appreciatedthe thoughtful exploration of timeless virtues depicted in “Virtue Vibes”. Prof. Asim Siddiqui (Department of English) discussed the poet’s effective use of literary devices such as metaphor, symbolism and rhythmic cadence, noting how the book harmoniously blends classical and modern influences.
Speakers including Prof. Tariq Chatari and Prof. Sagheer Afrahim added further perspectives on the poetic craft. A special moment in the programme came when Dr Ali’s father, Prof. Ghazanfar Ali, a noted Urdu poet and novelist, lauded the creativity of the collection, observing that the work “will play an important role in fostering moral values among the younger generation.”
The event was smoothly coordinated by Dr Shariq Aqeel in presence of Prof. Mohd Khalid, Dean, Faculty of Medicine.
