ALIGARH, December 15: Prof. Anjum Parvez, Professor in the Department of
Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University,
has been appointed Principal of Jawaharlal Nehru College for a tenure of five
years, with effect from the date of his joining.
Prof. Parvez is a senior academician with nearly three decades of teaching
and research experience and has served AMU in several key academic and
administrative capacities. He has previously held positions such as Chairman of
the Department of Medicine, In-Charge of the Gastroenterology Unit, Director
(Health), Medical Attendance Scheme, and Deputy Medical Superintendent at JNMC.
He has also represented AMU on statutory bodies, including the Academic Council
and the University Court.
An accomplished clinician and researcher, Prof. Parvez has guided a large
number of MD theses and has published extensively in national and international
peer-reviewed journals. He has also gained international academic exposure
during his tenure as Professor of Internal Medicine at the National University
of Science and Technology, Sultanate of Oman.
