CME and Alumni Meet 2025 Held at AMU’s Department of Otorhinolaryngology
ALIGARH, December 24: The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, organised CME and Alumni Meet 2025, combining academic deliberations with alumni engagement and professional interaction.
The programme drew 72 delegates from India and abroad. The inaugural session was graced by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon as Chief Guest and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohsin Khan as Guest of Honour, along with senior faculty of the Faculty of Medicine.
The CME featured a keynote lecture by Prof. Saurabh Varshney, Dean (Academics), AIIMS Rishikesh, on the effects of mobile phone radiation. Scientific sessions included a panel discussion on thyroid malignancies and invited lectures by Dr. Ambesh Singh (New Delhi), Dr. Mohammad Ashraf (SSMC Rewa), Dr. Amit Kumar (AIIMS Rishikesh) on robotic thyroid surgery, and Dr. Jabir Bin Umar KP (Kerala) on rhinoplasty.
Former faculty members of the department were felicitated for their contributions to its academic growth.
The valedictory session was presided over by former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohd. Gulrez, who appreciated the department’s academic vision. Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Mohd. Khalid, and Principal and CMS, JNMCH, Prof. Anjum Parvez, highlighted the role of alumni and academic programmes in improving patient care.
Organising Chairman Prof. Mohammad Aftab and Organising Secretary Dr. Aftab Ahmed thanked alumni and the organising team, including Dr. Mehtab Alam, Dr. Saadia Islam, Dr. Abdur Rahman (Honorary Treasurer) and Dr. Sabeeh Beig, for their dedicated efforts. The event concluded with a lunch, marking the successful completion of the CME and Alumni Meet 2025. Dr Bushra Siddiqui Conducted the programme.
