AMU Tibbiya College Strengthens Healthcare Training through Guest Lecture on Upper GI Endoscopy

ALIGARH, September 3: The Department of Jarahat (Surgery), Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised an interactive guest lecture on “Upper GI Endoscopy”, highlighting the College’s commitment to strengthening advanced healthcare training, clinical skills and quality patient care. The programme was attended by faculty members and postgraduate scholars of the clinical departments. Dr. ShobhitSengar, MBBS, MS, F.I.A.G.E.S., F.M.A.S., a clinician specialising in Gastro Surgery, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at Prithviraj Hospital, Aligarh, was the guest speaker.

Dr. ShobhitSengarshared his clinical experience and practical insights into Upper GI Endoscopy, covering systematic examination, interpretation of findings and their significance in diagnosis and patient management. The interactive session provided postgraduate scholars an opportunity to discuss clinical situations and understand the practical applications of endoscopy.

Dr. Sengar emphasised that endoscopy extends beyond visual examination and requires sound clinical judgement to identify significant findings, correlate them with the patient’s clinical presentation and facilitate appropriate treatment decisions.

The academic initiative reflects the Department’s efforts to strengthen its long-standing tradition of surgical excellence by integrating contemporary medical knowledge, technology, procedural training and research. The Department reiterated its commitment to further developing its Endoscopy Section as a centre for quality patient care, postgraduate education, advanced procedural training, research and academic collaboration.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Tafseer Ali, Chairperson, Department of Jarahat (Surgery), highlighted the importance of regular academic activities and advanced procedural training in enhancing the clinical competencies of postgraduate scholars. He appreciated the guest speaker for sharing his expertise and contributing to the academic enrichment of the department.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the guest speaker, Chairperson, faculty members and postgraduate scholars for their participation. Dr. Rabia Riaz, Assistant Professor, Department of Jarahat (Surgery), conducted the programme.
