شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات،جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ میں ’پیغمبرمحمد(صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم):ایک تعلیمی مشن‘ کے عنوان سے سمینار کا انعقاد

شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات،جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ نے مورخہ اٹھائیس اگست دوہزار چھبیس بروز جمعہ سہ پہرتین بجے، شعبہ ٹی ٹی اینڈ این ایف ای  کے ڈاکٹر سلامت اللہ بلاک میں واقع ’نیو ہال‘ میں پیغمبر محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم):ایک تعلیمی مشن‘ کے عنوان سے ایک سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا۔ سیمینار کا مقصد ایک ایسا علمی پلیٹ فارم مہیا کرنا تھا جہاں پیغمبرِ اسلام (صلعم) کے تعلیمی مشن، تدریسی انداز اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی تعلیمات و اسوہئ حسنہ کی دائمی افادیت و اہمیت پر غور و فکر کیا جا سکے۔ پروگرام میں ممتاز ماہریِنِ تعلیم، اساتذہ، ریسرچ اسکالرس اور طلبہ نے شرکت کی جس سے بامقصد علمی و روحانی مکالمے اور غور و فکر کا سلسلہ قائم ہوا۔

پروگرام کا آغاز کنوینر اور نظامت کے فرائض دے رہے ڈاکٹر محمد جاوید حسین اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر کے تعارفی کلمات سے ہوا۔ انھوں نے سیمینار کے اغراض و مقاصد پر مختصراً روشنی ڈالی۔ اس کے بعد انھوں نے ریسرچ اسکالر انضمام الحق کو تلاوتِ کلامِ پاک کے لیے دعوت دے کر باقاعدہ کاروائی کا آغاز کیا۔ اس کے بعد جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے شعبہ ٹی ٹی اینڈ این ایف ای کے اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر طارق انور نے نعتِ رسولِ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پیش کی، جس نے تقریب کے روحانی ماحول کو مزید پرکیف اور بابرکت بنا دیا۔

معزز مہمانوں کا باضابطہ تعارف کرایا گیا اور پودے اور شالیں پیش کر کے ان کا خیرمقدم اور تہنیت کی گئی۔ شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات کے سابق سربراہ پروفیسر ارشد اکرام احمد نے پروفیسر اختر الواسع کا تعارف پیش کیا، اور اسی شعبے کے موجودہ سربراہ پروفیسر اعجاز مسیح نے ان کا خیرمقدم کیا۔ شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات کے اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر علی حیدر نے پروفیسر جنید حارث کا تعارف کرایا، جن کا خیرمقدم شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات کے سابق سربراہ پروفیسر کوشل کشور نے کیا۔

پہلا علمی خطاب جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے شعبہ اسلامی مطالعات کے پروفیسر جنید حارث نے ’بطور معلم: پیغمبرِ اسلام (صلعم)‘ کے موضوع پر دیا۔ اس اجلاس کا محور پیغمبرِ اسلام حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی شخصیت کو ایک معلم کے نقطہئ نظر سے سمجھنا اور آپ صلعم  کے مشن کی تعلیمی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرنا تھا۔ یہ موضوع شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات کے لیے خاص طور پر موزوں اور اہم تھا، کیونکہ اس نے تعلیم پر محض معلومات کی منتقلی کے بجائے ایک ایسے عمل کے طور پر غور و فکر کرنے کا موقع فراہم کیا جس کا تعلق افراد کی تعمیر، ان کے کردار، اقدار، طرزِ عمل اور معاشرے کے ساتھ ان کے تعلقات سے ہے۔ اس خطاب نے پیغمبرِ اسلام صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی حیات اور مشن کے تعلیمی پہلوؤں پر مزید گفتگو کے لیے ایک فکر انگیز بنیاد فراہم کی۔

علمی اجلاسوں میں جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات کے ریسرچ اسکالر محمد طارق کی جانب سے نعتِ رسولِ مقبولؐ پیش کی گئی۔ نعت خوانی نے سمینار میں ایک فکر انگیز اور روحانی پہلو کا اضافہ کیا اور اسے اگلے علمی خطاب کی جانب ایک بامعنی ربط فراہم کیا۔

دوسرا اہم خطبہ جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے شعبہئ اسلامیات کے پروفیسر پدم شری جناب اختر الواسع نے دیا۔ اس موضوع پر ان کے عالمانہ خیالات و مشاہدات نے سمینار کو مزید ثروت مند بنایا۔ ایسے ممتاز عالم کی موجودگی اور شرکت نے شرکا کو اس موضوع پر وسیع تر فکری اور تعلیمی تناظر میں غور و فکر کرنے کا موقع فراہم کیا۔ ان کے خطاب نے سمینار کے بنیادی مقصدیعنی حضرت محمد مصطفیٰ ﷺ سے منسوب تعلیمی مشن کو سمجھنے اور عصری تعلیمی فکر و عمل میں اس کی مسلسل افادیت پر غور کرنے میں نمایاں کردار ادا کیا۔

اس پروگرام کو بعد ازاں شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات، جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے سربراہ پروفیسر اعجاز مسیح کے اختتامی کلمات سے مزید تقویت ملی۔ اپنے خطاب میں انھوں نے سیمینار سے برآمد اہم نکات کا احاطہ کیا اور تعلیمی اقدار، اخلاقی نشوونما اور افراد و معاشرے کی تشکیل میں اساتذہ کے کردار کی اہمیت پر زور دیا۔ ان کی اختتامی تقریر نے مباحث کو ایک مناسب علمی تکمیل فراہم کی اور اساتذہ کی تربیت کے حوالے سے اس موضوع کی افادیت کو اجاگر کیا۔

سمینارکا اختتام شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات، جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آفاق ندیم خان باضابطہ اظہار تشکر پر ہوا۔ انھوں نے ممتاز مقررین، پروفیسر جنید حارث اور پدم شری پروفیسر اختر الواسع کا شکریہ ادا کیا کہ انھوں نے اپنے قیمتی علمی خیالات سے شرکا کو مستفید کیا۔ انھوں نے شعبہ تعلیمی مطالعات کے سربراہ پروفیسر اعجاز مسیح کا ان کی قیادت اور رہنمائی کے لیے، نیز پروفیسر ارشد اکرام احمد، پروفیسر کوشل کشور، ڈاکٹر محمد موسیٰ علی، ڈاکٹر علی حیدر، ڈاکٹر سجاد احمد، ڈاکٹر طارق انور اور دیگر تمام اساتذہ، ریسرچ اسکالراور طلبہ کا بھی شکریہ ادا کیا جنہوں نے اس پروگرام کے کامیاب انعقاد میں اپنا گراں قدر تعاون پیش کیا۔

مجموعی طور پر”پیغمبرِ اسلام (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم): ایک تعلیمی مشن‘ کے عنوان سے منعقدہ سمینار نے آپؐ کے مشن کے تعلیمی پہلوؤں کا جائزہ لینے کے لیے ایک بامقصد علمی اور فکری پلیٹ فارم فراہم کیا۔ شعبہ علومِ اسلامیہ اور شعبہ تعلیم کے ممتاز ماہرین کی شرکت نے ایک ایسا بین علومی علمی ماحول تشکیل دیا جس میں تعلیم، اقدار، کردار سازی اور انسانی نشوونما کا بیک وقت جائزہ لیا جانا ممکن ہوسکا۔ یہ پروگرام خاص طور پر شعبہ تعلیم کے طلبہ اور محققین کے لیے انتہائی اہمیت کا حامل تھا، کیونکہ اس نے انہیں اس بات پر غور و فکر کرنے کی ترغیب دی کہ استاد کا کردار محض علم کی منتقلی تک محدود نہیں، بلکہ وہ اخلاقی اور ذہنی نشوونما میں ایک سرپرست، رہنما اور سہولت کار کی حیثیت رکھتا ہے۔

JMI's Department of Educational Studies organizes a Seminar on 'Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): An Educational Mission'

The Department of Educational Studies, Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia, organized a seminar on “Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): An Educational Mission” on Friday, 28 August 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the New Hall, Dr. Salamatullah Block, Department of TT & NFE (IASE), Jamia Millia Islamia. The seminar was organized with the objective of providing an academic platform for reflecting upon the educational mission, pedagogical approach, and enduring relevance of the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The programme brought together distinguished scholars, faculty members, research scholars and students for meaningful academic and spiritual reflection.

The programme commenced with an introductory remark by the Convenor and Anchor of the event, Dr. Mohd. Jawaid Hussain, Assistant Professor, who briefly highlighted the aims and objectives of the seminar. He then formally initiated the proceedings by inviting Inzemamul Haque, Research Scholar, to recite verses from the Holy Qur’an. This was followed by a Naat recitation by Dr. Tarique Anwar, Assistant Professor, Department of TT & NFE, JMI, which further enriched the spiritual ambience of the occasion.

The distinguished guests were formally introduced and felicitated through the presentation of saplings and shawls. Prof. Arshad Ikram Ahmad, Former Head, Department of Educational Studies, introduced Prof. Akhtarul Wasey, while Prof. Aejaz Masih, Head, Department of Educational Studies, felicitated him. Dr. Ali Haider, Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Studies, introduced Prof. Junaid Haris, who was felicitated by Prof. Kaushal Kishore, Former Head, Department of Educational Studies.

The first academic address was delivered by Prof. Junaid Haris, Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, JMI, on the theme “Prophet (PBUH) as an Educator.” The session focused on understanding Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from the perspective of an educator and highlighted the educational significance of his mission. The topic was particularly relevant for the Department of Educational Studies, as it provided an opportunity to reflect upon education not merely as the transmission of information but as a process concerned with the development of individuals, their character, values, conduct and relationship with society. The address provided an intellectually engaging foundation for further discussion on the educational dimensions of the Prophet's life and mission.

The academic proceedings were followed by another Naat recitation, presented by Mohammad Tarique, Research Scholar, Department of Educational Studies, JMI. The recitation added a reflective and spiritual dimension to the seminar and provided a meaningful transition to the next academic address.

The second major address was delivered by Padmashree Prof. Akhtarul Wasey, Department of Islamic Studies, JMI. His address further enriched the seminar through his scholarly reflections on the subject. The presence and contribution of such an eminent scholar provided the participants with an opportunity to engage with the theme from a broader intellectual and educational perspective. His address contributed significantly to the central objective of the seminar—understanding the educational mission associated with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and reflecting upon its continuing relevance in contemporary educational thought and practice.

The programme was subsequently enriched by the Closing Remarks of Prof. Aejaz Masih, Professor and Head, Department of Educational Studies, JMI. In his remarks, he brought together the key reflections emerging from the seminar and emphasized the significance of educational values, ethical development and the role of educators in shaping individuals and society. His concluding reflections provided an appropriate academic closure to the deliberations and reinforced the relevance of the theme for teacher education.

The seminar concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Afaque Nadeem Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Educational Studies, JMI. He expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished speakers, Prof. Junaid Haris and Padmashree Prof. Akhtarul Wasey, for sharing their valuable scholarly insights. He also conveyed his appreciation to Prof. Aejaz Masih, Head, Department of Educational Studies, for his leadership and guidance, and to Prof. Arshad Ikram Ahmad, Prof. Kaushal Kishore, Dr. Md. Musa Ali, Dr. Ali Haider, Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, Dr. Tarique Anwar and all other faculty members, research scholars and students for their valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the programme.

Overall, the seminar “Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): An Educational Mission” provided a meaningful academic and reflective platform for exploring the educational dimensions of the Prophet's mission. The participation of distinguished scholars from the Department of Islamic Studies and the Department of Educational Studies created an interdisciplinary academic environment in which education, values, character formation and human development could be viewed together. The programme was particularly significant for students and research scholars of education, as it encouraged them to reflect upon the role of the teacher not merely as a transmitter of knowledge but as a mentor, guide and facilitator of moral and intellectual development.
