 AMU Faculty Member Represents India at ASM Microbe 2026 in USA

ALIGARH, June 15:Prof. Fatima Khan, Department of Microbiology, Aligarh Muslim University, represented India at ASM Microbe 2026, held in Washington, D.C., USA, as an invited ASM Young Ambassador for India.

The distinction is conferred by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) on promising microbiologists and emerging scientific leaders from around the world. As part of her ambassadorial role, Dr. Khan participated in international networking and leadership-development activities and served as a panelist in a discussion on the role of young scientists in shaping the future of microbiology, fostering global collaborations, and addressing public health challenges.

She also took part in the ASM Future Leaders Mentorship Fellowship Meeting, an exclusive programme aimed at nurturing future scientific leaders through mentorship, professional development and collaborative engagement with distinguished scientists and ASM leadership.
