AMU JNMC to Organise Poster Competition on International Day Against Drug Abuse
ALIGARH, June 16: The Department of Psychiatry, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University, will organise a poster competition on June 26 to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The competition is being held under the theme The World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses and aims to promote awareness about substance abuse, mental health and addiction prevention among students and the general public.
According to Prof. Reyazuddin, Chairman of the Department, the event seeks to encourage creative expression and public engagement on issues related to drug abuse and mental well-being. Participants may prepare posters on themes such as Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life, Understanding Addiction: A Treatable Brain Disorder, Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders, and Breaking the Stigma Around Addiction Treatment.
The competition is open to all interested participants. Entries, which may be handmade or digital, should be submitted in A3 size and must be original. The last date for submission is June 24, 2026.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners securing first, second and third positions, while selected posters will be displayed during awareness programmes organised by the Department. Participation is free of cost.
The event is being coordinated by Dr. Sarmad Aziz, Department of Psychiatry, JNMC.
