CDOE, Viqarul Mulk Hall and Department of Dermatology at AMU Organise Plantation Drives under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign

ALIGARH, June 18: Continuing Aligarh Muslim University's participation in the nationwide Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, plantation drives were organized by the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Viqarul Mulk Hall, and the Department of Dermatology to promote environmental conservation and sustainability.

At the Centre for Distance and Online Education, the plantation drive was conducted under the leadership of Prof. Ekram Khan, Director, CDOE. Addressing the participants, he emphasized the collective responsibility of educational institutions in promoting ecological awareness and increasing green cover. Faculty and staff members planted saplings as a tribute to their mothers and as a commitment to a greener future.

The Department of Dermatology conducted the campaign by organizing a plantation drive at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College campus. Prof. Syed Suhail Amin and Dr. Mohammad Adil, Chairman, Department of Dermatology, planted Ficus saplings to mark the occasion. Senior residents and office staff of the department actively participated in the programme.

Viqarul Mulk Hall organized a plantation drive in observance of World Environment Day under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative. Prof. Naushad Ali P.M., Provost, highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from Dr. Faizan Ahmad, General Warden; Dr. Naushad Najeeb; Dr. Zia Ur Rehman; Dr. Askar Hussain, Warden-in-Charge (Land and Gardens); Mr. Manzoor Ahmad, Hall Administrator; office-bearers, hall residents and staff members, who planted saplings and pledged to work for environmental protection and greenery.
