AMU’s Prof. T. N. Satheesan Felicitation on Retiremen

ALIGARH, June 1: The Department of Modern Indian Languages, Aligarh Muslim University, organised a Service Appreciation and Retirement Felicitation Ceremony in honour of Prof. T. N. Satheesan of the Malayalam Section on his retirement after nearly 38 years of distinguished service to the University.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Officiating Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohsin Khan lauded Prof. Satheesan’s exemplary contributions as a teacher, administrator and academic leader. He said that Prof. Satheesan had served the University with dedication and distinction and that his contributions would continue to inspire future generations.

Presiding over the function, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Prof. Mohammad Rizwan Khan described Prof. Satheesan as a scholar of rare distinction whose academic excellence, humility and administrative acumen had enriched both the Department and the University.

In his farewell address, Prof. Satheesan expressed gratitude for the affection, support and cooperation he received from colleagues, students and the University administration throughout his career. He said that AMU had been much more than a workplace and would always remain an integral part of his life.

Several distinguished speakers, including Prof. S. P. Sharma, former Chairman, Department of Sanskrit; Prof. NinderGhugianvi, noted Punjabi litterateur and Professor of Practice at the Central University of Punjab; Prof. Rajiv Lochan Nath Shukla, Department of Hindi; and Prof. Vibha Sharma, Member In-charge, Public Relations Office, paid tribute to Prof. Satheesan’s academic achievements and personal qualities.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Chairman, Department of Modern Indian Languages, Prof. A. Nujum highlighted Prof. Satheesan’s scholarly achievements and his role in strengthening and expanding the Department. Former Chairman of the Department, Prof. Kranti Pal, also recalled his long association with him and appreciated his commitment to academic excellence and institutional development.
